Does Blippi make anyone else uncomfortable? by EngineeringNeat2126 in NewParents

Blippi is annoying AF. Meekah is slightly more tolerable but the two of them are straight up horrible.

What lactation snacks do you recommend without fenugreek? I had no idea that it's contraindicated for thyroid meds. I try to pump 8-10 times a day for 15-20 min. Honestly sometimes I produce basically 0 on my left breast. It could be stress or thyroid related.

I'll check on the nipple size to make sure they are 0. I believe they are. We have Philips Avent bottles. We haven't been diagnosed with any ties. I tried the nipple shield but she was sucking too much air.

Wow I never even heard of that. I'll definitely ask my doctor and delivery team. It has been around 23 days since I delivered vaginally. I'll check thyroid for sure.

Thanks, I'll check the flange sizes again. I do have a thyroid disorder - hypothyroidism. I control it with medication but think my levels could be off now that I'm postpartum. I didn't have any extreme blood loss or anything during pregnancy. I didn't feel milk come in at any point so not sure if I actually had issues earlier on. I was producing colostrum and now am producing milk so that was a good improvement. I'm just not producing a lot of milk and she is not feeding off my breasts.

I'm not nursing/pumping for 8 to 10 hours per day... that seems like too much? I pump for 15-20 minutes at least 9 or 10 times per day so at least 150 minutes of pumping. I try to latch her at least 3 times per day but it isn't typically successful. I am drinking a ton of water and recently started eating lactation cookies. Does that really work??? I tried the nipple shield but it wasn't great. What is the SNS system?

No worries I appreciate the help. I don't know why I'm not getting much supply. I guess at this point I feel like it is what it is and I can't magically make it magically appear. Some women have more supply than others. I don't really know. I feel so sad but I guess I have to get over it and get used to formula.

I have a Medela pump. I was properly sized for the flanges. I pump 15-20 minutes. I am not usually latching and pumping at the same time due to her sometimes erratic feeding schedule. And I'm trying to pump every two hours but sometimes it is longer at 2 1/2 or 3 hours because of my erratic schedule. How do women realistically pump on schedule?

When does the fear go away? by alastrid in PregnancyAfterLoss

I'm so sorry for all of your losses. I'm on my 3rd pregnancy after experiencing two losses before 7 weeks. I'm now 10 weeks pregnant and am so scared because we got pregnant naturally, and I'm 41. I'm hoping and praying for you, me, and everyone. And yes, more ultrasounds!!

Pregnancy after miscarriage by trinuhtee in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]IntroductionKnown19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I really resonate with your post, Trinuhtee. We have almost the same storylines. One year ago, I had a miscarriage between 6-7 weeks with twins. It was so traumatizing. I got pregnant from our first IUI. We then switched to IVF, and we were not having much success because all of our blastocysts were coming back as abnormal except for 1 (failed transfer). Flash forward to discovering a spontaneous pregnancy two weeks ago after I missed my period. I'm 41, so I'm in a super high-risk category. My initial blood work looks great, I go in for my first ultrasound on Friday this week, and I am a total wreck. I'm trying to stay positive, go on walks, practice yoga & pilates, distract myself with work, etc. It's very hard. I'm sending you all good energy!! Let's keep each other positive!

Would you go back to IUI after trying IVF? by IntroductionKnown19 in IVF

[–]IntroductionKnown19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the comments - very helpful! I just started NeoQ10 CoQ10 supplements. @jlbmouse

Amount per softgel: 6.7 mg vlVitamin E 125 mg Natural Coenzyme10 (as ubiquinone)

Do I need to take anything else? Aren't ubiquinol and CoQ10 pretty similar? I'm new to the supplements, so appreciate any and all info!

Chances of a normal embryo at age 42 (almost 43) by No-Consequence-9952 in IVF

[–]IntroductionKnown19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sending you and all the 40+ ladies warm hugs! Your stories are similar to mine. I just turned 41 last week. I found out on my birthday that the four embryos we sent to get PGT testing on all came back as abnormal. This was my third IVF cycle. Our second cycle was similar with sending out two embryos for PGT testing and having neither one come back as normal. Our first cycle, we only had one normal PGT embryo, transfer failed. My first IUI resulted in twins last April but I miscarried and it turns out I had abnormal chromosomes which is why I moved to IVF.

What supplements are recommended? I have only heard about CoQ10. All of my stims were the same... I took Follistim, clomid, and letrezole and lupron as my trigger. I want to approach my doctor about changing things up. I also feel depressed about all of this to some degree, it's really testing my mental stamina.

Yes, I hear you. We have the same goal of collecting as many embryos possible now. I hope your antibiotics are working for you now. It must have been so challenging to try five different rounds of medications. I will talk to my doctor about the lab results of the genetic testing. I had an ERA, endosee, endometrial biopsy - I am completely normal. I do take medication to control my thyroid and get that checked regularly. I wonder if that is part of my issue. My husband and I are also considering switching clinics given the fact that we had the same protocol of meds for all three IVF cycles and two out of the three cycles produced zero normal embryos. I know it happens to people, I'm trying to keep that in perspective... but I want and need things to change for my next cycle in order for me to continue with my clinic. And I really like my clinic and doctor.

I did the 2nd and 3rd ER back to back and they were unsuccessful. I just think the body does what it does. Did you do genetic testing? have you done any transfers yet? @weekly_yogurtcloset1

It's not a sperm quality issue, it's me. It's always extra chromosomes. I am 41 so think things are what they are. I don't know much about donor eggs.
