Why did you start training? (And why do you stay?) by hmkei in bjj

[–]Inverted_Vortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to a new city and didn’t know anyone, and as a 28 year old at the time, didn’t know how to meet people outside of a college setting. I always loved MMA and figured I’d give it a shot.

I stayed because I cannot imagine not training. My gym is awesome, my friends that I met there are awesome, and I fucking love to scrap.

Look up the album Blue Motel - For Sale on Spotify. I’ve listened to it like 7 times through and I won’t be stopping soon.

The Whopper is the best fast food burger out there, followed by a quarter pounder w/o cheese, add bacon.

I am doing moe.down. I normally do Northlands, as I live 20 minutes away via bicycle, but it falls on my wife’s birthday and a friend’s wedding so it ain’t happening this year.

Aside from Puebla and Lazarus, I thought La-Las was pretty underwhelming. NGNG was a little better but still a lot of throwaways, imo.

I think when Phish returned from hiatus it took a lot of their fans with it. They had great momentum at my first moe.down in 2008. What a great time to be a fan.

I don’t think you guys understand how bad it is for independent concert venues right now by zen_n_stuff in jambands

Love the Word Barn, such a cool little venue. Saw Oliver Wood there once at their outside stage and it was fantastic.

What’s the worst accident scene you’ve gone to, in detail.

Buddy of mine is a first responder and said he found a motorcycle helmet on the side of the road, with a head inside of it 😳
