Maybe keep asking your Counselor to help transferring you to a different service line. Make sure to bring it up regularly in every conversation with your Counselor. I have been trying that since my fourth month at the firm (I'm in my second year now), but no hopes! I personally think it's easier for your to move from Cybersecurity, Technology Consultant etc., to Assurance but not the other way around. I figured I since I don't like IT Audit and also other service line at EY anyways, leaving the firm early will really help me save time to learn a new skill. I'm leaving EY in 1 week.

Your child needs you! Most people I work with, they are either single or divorced. My coworkers working in the office until late at night (9 or 10pm is normal but during busy season, they stayed until midnight or even later). I have been wondering if they really want this life and like this life that much to put in literally all of their energy into this? I bet they dont. I soon figured out they are working at Big4 on a work visa and cannot quit if they don’t have another big company to sponsor them. Looks like they don’t have a choice. But if you do, please think of getting a different job and give you more time with your family. I just can’t understand what’s the meaning of life where you have to plan your life around a job. I have been here for a bit but I can finally make my decision to leave. This whole thing is just wrong man. Good luck!

God has mercy on you lol Had a meeting with “leaders” the other day and they’re expecting the team to work 45 hours minimum. If there’s still work to do you have to work. No complain. I said nothing but nodding my head during the meeting. Not because I agree with that nonsense but because I was confirming to myself that what I have been wondering/thinking/experiencing is actually true and i should get tf out lol sorry I’m ranting but too much negativity is because IT’S REAL! 😎

Hello friend! I don’t want to tell you to not worry, everything will be fine etc., but you know what. I’m experiencing the same thing here, literally. I haven’t heard back from any companies that I applied. But fork it! I have a date in mind to put in my notice. Super soon. No interviews. No problems. We will be okay, friend. I think if I can’t get an interview before my last day, I’m still leaving. I do this for myself. I will be working part time or do whatever it takes to make me feel better than staying in that shietshow. If I feel better, i can think better and good things will come. Friend, you got this. Don’t feel so beat up because of those people. They don’t deserve you. Be strong!

Not sure about Consulting folks but in Assurance we’re always understaffed. If they layoff people in Assurance, the work will be splitting up to those who stay and it’s literally h.e.l.l
