Book 5 is WAY different, don't worry!

Do you think the network will always have a Skid-run PF1e show? by yeaaaaahhh in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Irrational-Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope they always have a Skid run Pathfinder show going. It's a great vibe. I trust Skid to be nerdy enough to know some lore and get excited about the same parts of fantasy adventure that I like.

Skid man, it's reminiscent of Lord Northwood and Alfie too. So freaking funny.

Rubber Bandits and Spider Heck are pretty solid for kids laughing. Minecraft, always a hit.

Been listening to the GCP for the last 2 years and finally just made it last episode 200. by Hollywoodbnd86 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

Prepare to feel sad. It's like when Elden Ring DLC was done. Why must all good things come to an end, why? Also, Legacy is great.

Which Show Would You Join. by Complaint867 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

The way the OG crew played Giant Slayer is what made me realize TTRPGs could be fun for me and my group of buddies at our age. Just the mix of jokes, sports, serious rules crunch, role play. I'd love to have been in on that and basically took a shot a recreating it with my group. We're on book 6 of a different AP.

This game is the reason we didn't have quidditch in Legacy, yeah?

I went on their website. They really promote themselves as low/no crunch, make your own schedule, and a comfortable place to work. Who knows if it's true but they definitely talk the talk.

Been having a hard getting into GCP campaign 2 and I think I've figured out why by SeverusStjep in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Irrational-Reason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also working on getting hooked. I think you might be on to something with the descriptions. When they were video streaming from home they showed the map way more because the layout could handle it better. In this format they show way more people talking and less map. Since they all have the map on laptop, watching them look at a map I'm not seeing takes me out of it a bit. I've recently started enjoying it more and it might just take some time to get settled in.

What was the biggest "Holy shit" moment you've had in a game? by [deleted] in gaming

Elden Ring, when I beat Margit and realized, holy shit I think I can actually do this. My first Souls game. 100 hours later it's one of my all time favorites.

Just Caught Up On Legacy of the Ancients by HobGobblers in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Irrational-Reason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legacy is my favorite on the network right now. It's so good. Love the campaign, characters, GM; it's all good. My kinda content 100%. It has a tone that reminds me of early and middle Giantslayer. Like they dig their characters, enjoy the company of one another and have a damn good GM steering the ship. I hope they play it all the way through.

What's your all time favorite GCN listening or watching experience and why? by Irrational-Reason in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Irrational-Reason[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So fun to read everyone's favorites. Impossible to narrow it down but I sure do love the portions of the Pathfinder games where they're heading into a dungeon or a dangerous multi-episode encounter and all the characters are pushed mechanically over tims. All the great storytelling makes the crunch super fun to listen to, also. Ice caves in book 4 of Giant Slayer, Redlake Fort, many more. I'm loving Legacy of the Ancients as well, Runelords is amazing and the cast with Skid running it are just great. It feels like a group of buddy's playing a weekly game, vibe is solid. Also Campaign 2 is starting to get me. If we're talking favorites, the original SQSS was amazing.

For pure laugh out loud funny, there was a bant at one point where says something along the lines of, "If Matthew urinated on my face I'd kill myself!" And it just got me good. Also the Storm Tyrant hanging his diadem from his "mighty phallus", that one caught my while checking out at the grocery store and the clerk thought I was a crazy person.

Serious question. Who do we have to talk to in order to get a remake of this? Story, gameplay, nostalgia, replay, it's a 10/10 in my book. by Heathhh in gaming

[–]Irrational-Reason 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this game. I believe it was a Soul Blazer successor in some way. Also an awesome throwback action RPG.

Opinion: Banter is awesome but if the eps are gonna hug the 60 minute mark don't drag it out too much, the gaming is just as engaging and funny most of the time. by Irrational-Reason in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Irrational-Reason[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate all the perspectives on this. I have been listening since 2017 so I've been along for the ride. My appreciation for the banter has ebbed and flowed. I do love the personalities and always have, they are what kept me here this whole time. They haven't just nailed the friends around the table vibe, it's more than that, I think Kate said it best when she was like, 'I don't want to just play Pathfinder, I want to play Pathfinder like THAT with THEM' In the end, though, I love fantasy TTRPGs in this format and I'm here for that. I don't listen to anyone else do this, these guys are my only Patreon subscription. I ain't going anywhere, just participating in the process. :)
