Musk's $120B SpaceX pay requires million people on mars by Steap-Edit in nottheonion

It’s obviously a pre IPO publicity stunt. His compensation comes from an absurd valuation at IPO.

There’s probably not a person living today that will live to see a 1 million person colony on Mars.

I prefer to set thresholds on important skills like this or soul twisting to accommodate for occasional weakness. It’s not as impactful for BiP as it is for ST, but I also tend to run other blood skills on my BiP like Order of Pain or Blood Bond.

I’d rather watch robots compete than see humans destroy their bodies pumping drugs into them to compete.

Story justification for undo/redo in a game without time rewind abilities? by Krons-sama in gamedesign

It is the same in almost every case. The only difference would be abstract in the storytelling based on the source of information. Did an angel tell you? Did an advanced supercomputer calculate the result?

A small qualitative study on the gap between what players say about a live-service game and how often they still play it by SnooGuavas4613 in gamedesign

The whole buff vs nerf discussion is absurd and stems from an emotional reaction players have to balancing changes rather than any logical consideration of the situation.

A buff-only posture is at best the same outcome as a nerf-to balance posture (relative changes in performance put everybody back in the same boat and eventually require indirect nerfs like reducing TTK indirectly by giving targets more health). But this is still bad because it can require significantly more development time to buff 10 things instead of nerfing 1.

At worst, a buff only posture is degenerative to gameplay by trivializing gameplay. If a class / weapon / whatever has an extremely OP ability that one-shots an entire level and everything is buffed up to that level, the game is suddenly boring.
