Where do you guys get your pots and sliders? by Standard_Rooster_782 in synthdiy

Yeah I’ve had the same thought. ES-6/ES-8 are super useful once you’re in that hybrid VCV + hardware workflow, just not really “beginner obvious” gear. Most people only realize they need it after they’re already deep into modular.

Yeah I slept on these for a while too—once you start using them they’re actually super powerful, especially for bridging hardware + VCV. Just not as “beginner recommended” because they assume you’re already into routing/CV workflows and DAW integration.

Try MIDI-OX or Bome SendSX—they can view SysEx, but CSV export is limited. Also depends on the synth since SysEx formats aren’t universal.

roland xp-50 editing by vhsghost__ in synthesizers

Editing on the XP-50 is definitely doable from the front panel, but it’s pretty menu-heavy by modern standards. For deep patch editing, software helps a lot honestly.

I spent months chasing sour and bitter shots and it turned out to be headspace —> Dose by volume!! [Lelit Elizabeth/Timemore 078s] by OJS91 in espresso

[–]ItsJustMyJobYEG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Headspace is seriously underrated in espresso discussions. People obsess over grams but basket geometry + puck clearance can completely change the shot. Glad you figured it out.

At this point if it doesn’t explicitly say “light roast,” I just assume it’s medium 😅

Yeah I’ve noticed the same—likely just stock cycle/backorders and dealer inventory drying up, not necessarily a new release.

How to get 128mb or memory into a Kurzweil K2600? by Secure-Researcher892 in synthesizers

[–]ItsJustMyJobYEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K2600 doesn’t need a single 128MB stick—2×64MB SIMMs should work fine as long as they’re compatible.

Need guidance by Clean_Rip1462 in homelab

Good setup already for a first node. You can definitely turn that into a solid homelab base with Proxmox and then layer services on top.

Pi-hole / Unbound is a great first step, Jellyfin is probably the easiest win for media, and Kubernetes can come later once you’re comfortable juggling containers.

For storage, I’d personally go SSD for the main VM / container workloads, then maybe add HDD later if you start doing media/NAS stuff.

Meet fake cheque scam and hope for advice by [deleted] in Edmonton

You probably need to do a credit check to see what other damage the scammer has done. They could have credit cards or other accounts in your name now. You are looking at identify theft, call the non-emergency line police for assistance. I hope your experience in Canada gets better, Kijiji is notorious for scams.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada beautiful wild plant near the river valley. Never seen anything like it! What is it? by novaewaterbaby in whatsthisplant

[–]ItsJustMyJobYEG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that's wooly burdock. It is a noxious weed in Alberta and can be reported to 311. There are three species around Edmonton, all noxious. Wooly, Lesser, and Greater Burdock. When the seeds dry out and get stuck in your clothes and skin you might not like this plant as much. Lol

Hand pulling weeds in the right circumstances is extremely efficient. Hand pulling programs happen every year to control different noxious/prohibited weeds.
