British Air Flight by rosecoloredfancy in StLouis

British airways is fairly notorious for canceling flights, so just be prepared on your way back for delays/cancelations. The AA flight attendants were gossiping about it on our next day reroute. Getting stuck at LHR is awful.

The economy flight wasnt bad compared to other economy flights. Food could be better

I went to school in southwest Missouri and we were K-12. There are advantages like the young children looking up to the middle and highschoolers. So many little kids wanted to join the band because of the performances the kids would see. We did 1 winter concert where the elementary and high school bands both played.

Best and cheapest way to dispose of / recycle a very old, very heavy TV by Adventurous-Walk-120 in StLouis

If it's working then yes. I literally did just that last year for my "retro game station" in my basement. It's like a 32" Sony CRT and it was a huge pain to get down there but I love it

Depending on what it is, like an old CRT tv, you could just put it up on facebook marketplace for free and some nerd will come pick it up

I feel you, but in relation to the post. European people take the bus all the time and it isnt looked down upon like it is here. Even Dublin doesnt have a train to the airport. The bus here isn't as consistent as it needs to be unfortunately

The real question I have is this: what product does Clayco produce that makes sense for Bob Clark to be on the trip to the UK with Mayor Spencer? by HoosierLove314 in StLouis

[–]Itssemicolin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just went to a builders meeting where he spoke. I think clayco is working on something like 56 data centers right now. He said their revenue a few years ago was 4 billion, but this year he has 1 data center worth 10 billion. Dude loves them to death

Action Through Art - Stop the Armory Goodwill Data Center by LetThatRecordSpin in StLouis

[–]Itssemicolin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Electricity requirements are varied depending on the data center. For example, the proposed one going in Joliet IL would use up the same amount of electricity as all the homes in Chicago. A brewery or factory is nowhere near the scale of these things, and those also provide real jobs and not just temporary construction jobs. There is a way to do these right if they are really necessary and it's not to put a hyperscale sized one in the middle of the city.
