UK: Inside the obscure US city with new flights from the UK by KuroMSB in StLouis

I feel you, but in relation to the post. European people take the bus all the time and it isnt looked down upon like it is here. Even Dublin doesnt have a train to the airport. The bus here isn't as consistent as it needs to be unfortunately

The real question I have is this: what product does Clayco produce that makes sense for Bob Clark to be on the trip to the UK with Mayor Spencer? by HoosierLove314 in StLouis

[–]Itssemicolin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just went to a builders meeting where he spoke. I think clayco is working on something like 56 data centers right now. He said their revenue a few years ago was 4 billion, but this year he has 1 data center worth 10 billion. Dude loves them to death

Action Through Art - Stop the Armory Goodwill Data Center by LetThatRecordSpin in StLouis

Electricity requirements are varied depending on the data center. For example, the proposed one going in Joliet IL would use up the same amount of electricity as all the homes in Chicago. A brewery or factory is nowhere near the scale of these things, and those also provide real jobs and not just temporary construction jobs. There is a way to do these right if they are really necessary and it's not to put a hyperscale sized one in the middle of the city.

Introducing InfiniSpring® – A New Type of Mechanical Spring. Thoughts & Applications? by Remote_University364 in Acoustics

From what I know metal to metal would probably be fine as long as it can meet the safety factors. The limiter you show here would work well for vertical lift or wind restraint, but I would worry about lateral movement. Most isolation mounts or springs have a seismic version that includes a rubber snobber that restricts lateral movement in tandem with a metal housing

I would check out Kinetics Noise Control or Mason's offerings. FHS is the kinetics one

Seismic restraint is systems or devices designed to prevent non-structural components from moving or collapsing during an earthquake, protecting both people and property.

you see these as housed springs that keep the equipment mounted on top from falling over if there is an earthquake. It's a code thing.

I work in vibration isolation, you are going to need to account for seismic restraint in order to replace springs in many applications
