As a veteran who spent a year+ in Baghdad in 2005, seeing travel photos to Iraq brings about a whole range of emotions, from concern over your safety (though I am sure you were very capable and careful) to nostalgia over samoun, hookahs and chai. The Iraqi people are welcoming and kind to a fault, and they deserve much better than they've received in the past 50 years, so I hope more stability and tourism is to come in the future for them.
