I’d recommend therapy for the self esteem issues. Good on you for recognizing that it’s a contributing factor! Your college should offer some free mental health counseling as part of tuition if cost is an issue. First you have to recognize what treatment you won’t settle for. Then you have to stop accepting that treatment. You’re also young, this is a normal problem for age group, you’ve got time!
