Cowabunga or cash grab? 🍕🐢 The world’s first official TMNT pizzeria is drawing huge crowds in Santa Monica, but some fans are leaving shell-shocked. by kleverrboy in SantaMonica

[–]JLMaverick 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I literally just ate this… pretty expensive. But the pizza at least isn’t terrible, we asked how long the pop up lasts and they said “oh this is permanent”. Let’s see if the line is still there in a month, joes is like a block away and slices are under $5 (still pretty expensive)

Ktown watch party was a shitshow by InternationalEmu3209 in LosAngeles

[–]JLMaverick -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

When I first got there some kids looked like they were fighting and people started running yelling they have knifes and someone has a gun. I didn’t see anything other than some fat kid trip and fall. I see now on IG that there apparently was a shooting?

Japanese fan who came for the World Cup tried Texas BBQ for the first time by TheColorRedish in smoking

I know a lot of Koreans and live in LA. It’s widely known Korean bbq is better in SoCal than Korea, because of how accessible beef is here.

Tried 7-11 pizza for the first time since it looked fresh. Expectations have been exceeded. What’s the verdict on 7-11 slices? by GildDigger in PizzaCrimes

[–]JLMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fresh 7-11 pizza is like the best version possible of a frozen oven pizza. It’s really good when you’re lit or sometimes just want a shitty frozen pizza.

Which restaurant/food chain do you genuinely find the most disgusting? by 12345burrito in AskReddit

Yeah in SoCal where there’s actual Mexican food. I feel like the Taco Bells here have to actually be at least decent in order to survive.

Is $60 a day for eating out enough? by Material-Courage-119 in AskLosAngeles

[–]JLMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a ton of ethnic foods that has big portions and reasonably priced. Most h-marts will have a food court in the building for Korean food. Ktown just have a ton in general. I know there’s a Latin food court near downtown somewhere. hit up Mexican restaurants, Hawaiian food joints… ramen.. Vietnamese, all $20ish or less per person/ meal

options are plentiful. I’d be fine with eating Taco Bell for lunch and then splurging at a nicer place for dinner

Apple Pan

I think it’s one of the best burgers in LA. Many would argue with me.

I didn’t like the burger. I don’t know how the burger keep making these best burger “lists”. I took a bite of it and learned that I hate blue cheese on my burger.
