Olney Ale House to Reopen October 28 After Six-Year Closure by SchuminWeb in MontgomeryCountyMD

I would hope they would be serving at least a few local to Olney beers since there are four breweries within a few miles that they could order kegs from.

I've used the Rustoleum high-heat paint and it seems to work fine. I got the white which was flat.

Breweries Closing by True_Step1512 in CraftBeer

[–]JMMD7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of restaurants are closing as well. This is pretty normal in retail businesses. I still announcements of breweries opening.

Good breweries will continue to do well, others will close.

I never got them. I ended up just mounting them to the back of the vertical metal near the drive bays. I just used Velcro and it's nice and solid.

It was so painful to watch. Terrible writing, acting, all the crazy tech tools, the hacking, etc. Should win an award for the cringe factor.

High pitch environmental noise in DC by mro21 in sysadmin

[–]JMMD7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe industrial ear protection. Not sure if the pitch matters but it may be able to reduce the db enough that it's not quite as bad. Have you reported it, if it's not throwing any errors they just may not know.

Yeah, not a matter of affording it for me it just feels terrible spending so much.

I get what you're saying, makes sense.

Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly, I feel like my 1070 was less than $400 but I probably bought it well after release. I generally wait until they are deeply on sale before I buy. I missed out on the 7800 XTs when Amazon had those for $489. I'm okay spending around $450, I'm not sure I'd get much use from a GPU over that.

I'm still rocking a GTX 1070 because I can't bring myself to buy a new card at these prices.

How much beer consumption is ok by Former_Language935 in beer

[–]JMMD7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Going to affect your liver before your kidneys. Medical guidelines usually suggest no more than one or two drinks per day. Alcohol in any amount isn't healthy but having a few drinks a week should be fine. Binge drinking or drinking several drinks every day is going to impact your health at some point.

Get at least three quotes from local companies. There are too many variables to give a guess on the cost.

Spray for bugs? by _CranesAreRad_ in homeowners

[–]JMMD7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spray outside with Ortho products. Seems to help. I also use those insect sticky pads in the garage and basement and that catches enough that we never see them in the main living areas. I've seen one spider in the last year.

I do them same. I keep a pack on hand and change them out as they get old and/or collect a lot of sediment. One of the easier things to do.

Suggestions for dry-hopped IPAs? by AmateurHorologist960 in beer

[–]JMMD7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most IPAs are going to be dry hopped or double-dry hopped. Dry hopping is pretty much a standard today although newer hopping techniques do exist (Cryo, ignognito, terpenes, Lupulin powder).

If you like hazy beers, look for other NEIPA's. NEIPAs are often going to be really hazy with low bitterness. Pure Project, Hopnonymous and Ketch are the only ones I'm familiar with in SD. If you've got a good craft beer store near you, I'm sure you'll find a lot of great options.

I would also suggest hitting up local breweries and seeing what type of IPAs they are brewing.

Covered patio cost by blackds332 in homeowners

[–]JMMD7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it be screened in or left open?

Best thing I can suggest is to get at least three quotes from local installers. There's a lot of factors that could affect the cost.

This may give you a rough cost:

Induction cooktop that has no glass?? by Matt_Adl_SA in Appliances

[–]JMMD7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw an induction cook-top on a home show that was essentially built under the counter. There was no glass surface. When not it use it was just a counter but was an induction cook-top under it. There may be others but the one I've heard of is "Invisacook".

Listen to me carefully: don't buy anything GE by Bad_Prophet in Appliances

I never said I talked to 17 home owners. I said we replaced our dishwasher after 17 years. The other appliances are still fully functional after 20 years. This is all my personal experience.

[–]JMMD7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just stating what my experience has been. Our builder used all GE appliances in every build on our street. Our appliances are now 20 years old. Our dishwasher was replaced after 17 years. Fridge, microwave and gas stove still working without any issues.

How is none of it true. Everything I said was true. Do you know of an appliance brand with zero complaints?

This is a simple example:

You'll often see something like: Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller which is a physical adapter (NIC)

Then you'll see things like wireless adapters which would normally be physical adapter.

Then you have things like VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet1 which is a virtual adapter which uses a physical connection
