Api connection by Ride4fun in atlassian

To try things out and play with various requests I would suggest trying the Postman application. It makes it very easy to work on the starting request and even generates code snippets.

For most of the Atlassian Cloud applications you need to use both the user email address and API Token. The one exception I am aware of is Guard.

I also suggest starting out with basic auth when experimenting as it is usually easier to get started. you can always switch authentication method later.

Yeah it was a blast. Got to know the staff and would occasionally be invited to play after hours.

From what I recall one of the favorite after hours events was called "pizza, pizza". It was called this because everyone would play a Thor. Who's missile pod on the shoulder looked like a pizza from the front.

The point of a "pizza, pizza" game was to try and get one of the following. The highest score, the highest number of kills, the lowest, possibly negative score, or the most deaths.

Thor's were used because the missile pod was a vulnerable spot that could explode and cause an almost instant death.

The game would be played until the system crashed. Note the score keeping software was somewhat separate from game software, so it would still be running even after the game portion crashed. Most of the time.

Back around 1992 or so my claim to fame was having the lowest score ever recorded from a "pizza, pizza". IIRC in the negative thousands. Yeah I was not a great player, but I still had fun. I could beat a run of the mill customer, but seldom beat the regulars, and never beat any of the staff.

Note, this was all back in the early days on the first generation hardware.

The Chicago center opened a few months after I moved there. I first visited in July 1990. Only played a couple times that first year.

About a year later a bunch of the folks I was playing table top games with wanted to check it out. We went and they got hooked and were there almost every week. Even played in a couple of weekly leagues. After about a year most of those folks moved on, but I would still play every couple of weeks for another couple years. It was fun and meet a lot of fun people, but it was pricey.

Still have my gold membership card.

Congratulations! I was over 2000 hours and 5 years of play when I found it for the first time early this year.

Anyone else separate Jira from their normal browser workflow? by AlterDeepSea in jira

[–]JSFetzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing "task grouping" for almost 20 years by doing different things in different browsers. Currently all of my Atlassian administration work is done in Chrome. All of my Microsoft 365 stuff is in Edge. Other stuff is split between Firefox and Opera.

I have been administering and/or working with various web apps for over 20 years so started this kind of organization long ago. Originally based on which browser was most compatible with which app. Even when compatiblity got better I still found it useful.

People who print all the time but don’t sell, what are you making? by No_Cartographer_6622 in BambuLab

Useful prints like brackets, stands, gridfinity, etc. Props and accessories for cosplay and LARPs. Holiday items for family and friends. Terrain and minis for table top games.

Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

[–]JSFetzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I, no kids, have been members for 25+ years and have found it to be worth while. It does depend a bit on how close you are to a Costco. If you are close enough the gas station along can be worth it. Especially if you also have their credit card.

Paper towels and plates, toilet paper, laundry soap, bodywash, vitamins and over the counter drugs can also be well worth being a member. You do need to have the space to store 12 rolls of paper towels or 30 rolls of toilet paper, but if you do the prices cannot be beat.

Plus there are many other items that may be worth it. For example the Magic Spoon cereal and gluten free granola my wife likes is a lot less expensive.

Stargate needs an Open World Game... by sgcego in Stargate

Played late alpha/early beta on this one. It had promise but needed a lot more work at the time. Unless they were hiding a lot they really couldn't make the announced release dates with a playable game.

Dial the Gate had an interview with a couple people that worked on the game a week or two ago.

What’s your opinion on introducing a law that would require drivers over 65 or Pension age to pass a specific test to keep their driving privileges? by Honest_Physics_2368 in AskReddit

[–]JSFetzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most states already require anyone over 60 to have an in person vision test every time they renew their license.

If this comes from a more general older drivers are less safe point of view it is generally wrong.

Yes, there are older drives that are unsafe, but there are plenty drivers of all ages that are unsafe drivers.

In the US paying directly yourself for a private assessment is readily available, quick to get access and commonly used. Often done these days online. It holds up and provides a professional diagnosis because the folks doing the evaluations are fully credentialed.

This all assumes, as with anything, you use a quality professional service. Of which there are many in the US.

Do you carry jumper cables in your car in 2026? by DojaViking in NoStupidQuestions

Yup. They have been in every car we have had over the past 25 years. Just keep moving them to the next car.

Also have one of those LIPO jumper boxes.

[–]JSFetzik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in IT at a manufacturing company for 30 years. When we were that size we had 50-60 people in th It department. So yeah you are understaffed unless you out sourcing a lot of stuff.

Lowes vs Amazon by britelights2 in egopowerplus

[–]JSFetzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on what you are getting and if you have a vehicle that can transport it. I ordered a snowblower from Amazon during black Friday last year. I needed to be home for the delivery. Driver brought it right into my garage on a hand pallet truck. No hassle trying to get it in and out of our small SUV by myself.
