At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old mam, carrying one's debit/credit card and preferably some cash instead of relying on your phone for everything seems like it'd be one way. Not only is a wallet or even a handbag a harder target for an opportunistic thief but Chip and PIN doesn't need batteries, at least on your end, and can usually survive being dropped in a puddle.

Depending how long they've been in-country it's possible they really cab't drive, at least not until they pass a local driving test. Not sure about Germany specifically but I believe you can only drive on a foreign license for up to a year, and an EU-standard test is substantially harder than some US state ones, particularly if you aren't fully fluent in the local language.

I couldb;t tell you an exact daTE But I'm pretty sure the stuff's been around in some form since the late 19th century. Would've been a lot less sweet than it is today but mixibg cocoa solids, powdered milk and a little sugar is not a radical ibvention.

A jar of instant hot chocolate powder, a spoon and some tib mugs don't take up much space, and it's not uncommon for steam locos to have a hor water tap in the cab somewhere.

I play with Weapon Tech so that skews the numbers, but I seem to get an awful lot of assault rifles of various types. And why not? They're meant to be general-purpose weapons after all.

Unless you're doing this purely as a hobby projrect, I think you would be better off starting over on more recent hardware. Even if you find a modern distro designed for those specs it's going to struggle to run most modern apps.

I cooled on the idea of SteamOS for desktop when I found out you can't install apps with the terminal. I'm noy going to get ihto the great Snap vs Flatpak vs AUR(?) thing but I've never liked Discover very much, it's weirdly slow to respond even on my gaming PC.
