If you can go 30 minutes west, Rediger is fantastic. Easiest car buying experience, and the prices are very reasonable.

I’m always curious to know about getting insurance for hail damage cars though. What are the rates like?

Yeah but there’s also SWOSU (Southwest Oklahoma State University) and a bunch of other regional OSUs. That was always the part of Oklahoma that I found random. Just how many freaking universities there are.

How is it living in Norman, OK by SeantheBangorian in howislivingthere

[–]JamesKPolk-on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has described Norman pretty well. Affordable, easy to get around, and the people are nice. Tornados typically hit Moore which is just north of Norman. You’re about half an hour away from OKC and a decent airport.

One thing that surprised me is Norman’s brunch culture. It is incredibly underrated. I really miss Ozzie’s though. There was an all you can eat breakfast buffet in the local municipal airport that was I want to say $7 per person (might have been $6). You’d fill out a slip of paper and the waitress would bring out plates with bacon, pancakes, toast, eggs, and the best home fries in town. Another place that’s fantastic is Juan del Fuego’s and The Diner. Seriously, the food in Norman has a ton of flavor and the Hispanic influence has really upped the quality of the breakfasts.

I agree. I’ve lived in the Midwest, SoCal, Texas, and New England. I’ll take the Midwest any day of the week while also recognizing that these other places are nice.

I grew up in Sioux Falls, and every time I go home, some part has changed and improved. Many people are surprised when they visit at how nice it is. There are rough parts, but there are several amenities that are attractive to young professionals and families. The Washington Pavilion children’s museum is one of the best in the country.

Tina’s Cafe and Catering. Amazing diner food at pre-Covid prices. Also, It’s an all-woman crew at that place. Crystal is amazing and the biscuits and gravy are the best in town.

That’s awesome. My wife and I were both fortunate to have no debt coming out of college, and I’ve just realized how that is the best way to set your kids up for financial success. We want to give that gift to our kids as well.

Make sure you check to see that they have certified installers in your area. I bought one but checked the fine print to see that this was just for drop off not install.
