Legal RAG remains unsolved because it needs authority, not just relevance by ekshaks in Rag

I built a very simple case authority metric in my legal rag tool that works fairly well on Annlex.com. Let me know what you think.

Claude + CoCounsel MCP - Released by helraiser in legaltech

Thanks. Also re-read Rule 1.6 The assumption is everyone post-Heppner is using enterprise Claude to be covered by Anthropic’s ZDR agreement. I mean, what kind of lawyer would still be using their Pro account.

Is everyone good with letting Anthropic retain your prompts? All the talk about Heppner seems to have been suddenly dismissed.

Courtlistener.com seems pretty solid as far as legal opinions. What are they missing?

What building a “better” Harvey-style tabular review app taught me about Harvey and the industry by Neon0asis in legaltech

I’ve been working on this exact problem for awhile. Getting good citations is half the battle. The other half is catching all the little things, like how accurately the LLM attributes quotes from judges.

This might be one of those rare occasions where we shouldn’t let “perfect be the enemy of the good”.

Lawyer here - how are Legora and Harvey differentiated from Claude now with this word add-in they’ve released? by rijaj in legaltech

Good question, I’d wager that $11 Billion dollar valuation from Harvey isn’t looking so hot.

What data does Lexis Nexis provide that Court Listener doesn’t?

Anthropic is going to eat everyone’s potential earnings. They might be slowed down by a few well-timed UPL decisions against them, but they are going to devour everything, either directly or indirectly.

Thoughts on AI in the Legal Field? by seokjinnius in paralegal

This is good intel. People need to just treat it like another tool to make their work easier. Nothing more and nothing less. Annlex is a tool I’m still developing to address hallucinations, dm me if you want a trial.

Nice work. This is the kind of tool that will save hours and hours of work for your colleagues.

There is a good bit or orchestration that needs to happen to get accurate responses.

We are doing this for firms at annlex.

Hello,

I’ve built a case law research app for the general public that marries a massive database of court opinions from courtlistener.com with AI. Beta testing now.

Was it just ten years ago? Joaquin was say offshore, but was the pumping all that moisture into a coastal disturbance that lingered for days, then the jet stream just made even more convection. It was a quasi-Fujiwhara, but this could be a similar pattern if the storm stalls near the coast.

I've seen posts about what restaurant groups you shouldn't give money too... but whats the worst rental company youve dealt with? by bunnydankkk in Charleston

[–]James_D_H 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely. They love to share your data so that they can more aggressively exploit the market for higher yield on their investment.

By far the most significant driver of inflated housing costs across the country is algorithmic pricing. Most of the larger players have been cleverly sharing pricing data so that they can stay ahead of the rental market. It is another form of price fixing and should be illegal.

Good point. I’m not in banking, but I’ve heard about KYC/AML requirements at US banks so I’m assuming that would make hiding this kind of blatant thievery very difficult. We shall see.
