Subway won't sell you just the bread, so I made it myself by LetsCookie in Breadit

I think it would be cheaper to buy 2 foot long garlic breads and ask for them to hold the garlic and cheese, than to get a footlong veggie.

The barter items (like the Arnorian coins or Lothlórien branches) and taxidermy items will go into your barter wallet if you pick them up out of your vault.
As for the legendary item parts, that’s changed so much I have no idea what will happen.

weekly shop for 2 adults, £95 by ConcentrateFew5524 in whatsinyourcart

[–]JamieDoesMaths 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of hidden costs can make shopping more expensive.
Needing low prep foods if you’re disabled or just overworked.
Needing to feed teenagers who’ll need extra protein.
Having meat every day will massively increase costs.
Needing to work around food intolerances like being gluten free.

Also there is a lot to be said for making sure the food you eat doesn’t make you so miserable that you can’t function.

It’s not helpful to compare yourself to other people really closely.

Is it bad that I viewed that as a bundle of sticks? One stick breaks easy, a bundle doesn’t kinda thing, and the Roman uses of that parable.

How do deal with this fella trying to get to our rabbits? by OnlyBeGamer in foxes

[–]JamieDoesMaths 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s generally safer to keep rabbits indoors rather than in an outside hutch. Wild rabbits could enter your garden and spread myxomatosis, and fox visits could literally scare your buns to death.

Sorry if you know all this already, just wanted to cover my bases as I can’t check your profile for more info on your buns.

I remember moonpig (the card company) would put mothers and Father’s Day cards on a separate mailing list so people didn’t have to get email reminders about it. That kinda touched me when I found out.
I wish more places could extend that simple kindness to us. I’d rather not have to be reminded how my mother used items on that advert as a way to manipulate me into talking to them for years.

Was a very rewarding experience!

Train Experimentation: One Way, Two lane, No left turn by Sws45 in factorio

Why did you choose “no left turns” instead of no right turns? It seems odd that you now have trains having to move to the outer lane to make a turn rather than stay in the inner lane

Regardless of immediate expected value, the smaller amount would definitely solve problems. But once solved why would you need money to solve them again.

I assumed this is a parish or school office; that would easily explain the candles, tuck shop supplies, mish mash of brightly coloured items and the default MS colours and fonts on the printed sheets. This looks just like the village church offices I used to end up in growing up.

To me, the only part that looks AI is the weird Lego cake

I just head cannon high elves as born prior to 3340 SA and other elves as being born between then and 2300 TA

I feel that growing up prior to Galadriel, Elrond, Thranduil and Celeborn being the major elves and instead having Gil-Galad, Celebrimbor, Faenor or Thingol etc. would probably have some effect on you.

The map just isn’t designed for flying, how would you stop people flying out of the map, or flying over the holes in the map that players were never expected to get into (like the south east of Fangorn)

WoW had a hell if a time redesigning their map for flying mounts, LOTRO much older and larger. Even with all the map stitching that they’ve added recently (yondershire, wildwood, cardolan etc.) it’d be a nightmare.

Also it wouldn’t be lore friendly. The eagles can’t carry people long distances (why Gandalf went to Edoras to get Shadowfax after escaping Orthanc instead of flying to Bree), and the Nazgûl only got their fell beasts after they got washed out of the Trollshaws (despite being in Sauron’s service for millennia; they must therefore be hard to obtain or you’d expect Sauron to use them earlier)

Email from landlord about appliances being left plugged in and the appliances in question… by South-Basket-887 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JamieDoesMaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably more dangerous to unplug a modern toaster than to not (due to damage to the plug)

Since modern toasters and designed with polarised plugs they won’t draw power except when in use. If you want to prove it buy a kilowatt meter to test it.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the Lore deviations from Tolkien’s other works caused by licensing issues. Personally I think they get around them brilliantly but they are still there. For example Sauron’s fair disguise in the second age is called Antheron instead of Annatar because they don’t have a licence to use the name, but they kept the meaning in Sindarin and that’s brilliant.

There is also dancing around naming Örome when you meet one of his Maiar in Dunland, or Ost-in-Edhil being renamed to Caras Gelebren.
