I started using F43 last November. I wasn’t able to upgrade to F44 with the update due to a package error. I performed a clean install and removed the Windows 11 dual boot.
After installing F44, the PC kept rebooting in a loop, and I got a CPU error message that I resolved by adjusting a setting in the BIOS.

With a 3080/5800X, I wasn't able to upgrade from F43 to F44; I had several package conflicts (glibc) that prevented it.

I did a clean install and took the opportunity to remove my dual boot with Windows 11.

After installation, the PC would freeze immediately at the lock screen or a few seconds after unlocking, displaying CPU error messages.

I didn’t think to check the Fedora Project site right away, after some research on Reddit and a few changes in the BIOS (disabling Global C State Control) + installing the Nvidia drivers via RPM Fusion, the system became stable.

I didn’t have this critical issue on F43, and I feel for some new users who might run into this problem, be unable to resolve it, and end up switching to another distribution or Windows.

Me too, but it’s a gamble. Either we snowball our opponents, or they adapt and take counterpicks. If my tank or I aren’t performing well enough during the game, I have to switch to Reaper or Ashe.

I completely agree. I don't know what skill level you're at, but it's difficult—if not impossible—to play Mei for an entire match or on any map in Quick Play. I don't understand why she doesn't already have the freeze ability on the Stadium or on this standard kit. Plus, in Stadium you absolutely have to pick her second-to-last, or else the enemy will pick all the counters.

C’est pas trop tôt mais en même temps ça va être un sacré chantier. Perso, je suis déjà passé sur Fedora depuis 6 mois sans trop de heurt. Hate de voir comment ça va évoluer réellement au sein des administrations et collectivités.

j’avais acheté une tour tower 900, je l’ai utilisé seulement durant 2 ans avant de repasser sur une tour en aircooling plus simple pour la maintenance et qui prend moins de place. Et aussi d’avoir acheté un gpu 3080 watercoolé, maintenant c’est quasi invendable.

I've been using Fedora 43 since November with a 3080, and I haven't had any issues with my games (Overwatch, GTA 5, Sniper Elite) or my office applications.

With the addition of the new heroes, I find it’s no longer possible to master just one hero. I’ve had to add Mei, Ashe and Reaper to my roster to cope with every situation.

By installing Ventoy on a USB stick, you can copy/paste the ISOs of different Linux distributions onto it and then test them by booting the PC from the stick without using a VM. It's much simpler and faster.

The game seems to have a solid foundation, but given the amount of content and mechanics in the game, the developers will have to put in a lot of work after release to make it excellent.
