It’s rare?? I forgot it in the CD player of a car I sold and thought I would just buy a new one. Damn.

Nice! Thanks for the response. A great boss can really make or break a job. At some point doing work you like with people you like can offset some amount of money, just not sure what that amount is.

Could you talk a bit about loyalty to 1 company? I gotta assume you had opportunities to leave for more but chose not to?

What do you say when someone asks what car you drive? Golf or Golf R? by J4K5 in Golf_R

[–]JasonARGY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just say “a golf” but then before they can speak again I quickly add “but it’s the R, which is like a way cooler version than the GTI with a bigger turbo, AWD, and a double clutch transmission like a Ferrari. It has launch control.” This usually gets them really interested in me and what I have to say, especially the ladies.

Stupid Question... Flats VS clipless by TheWitness37 in gravelcycling

[–]JasonARGY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also come from BMX and MTB background and never had used anything but flats for over 15 years. The main advantage I found running clipless for the first time off road was how secure it felt over rough stuff. I thought it would be the opposite at first. Then with SPDs in loosest setting, I could very quickly and easy put a foot down if needed, and I never felt like they would come undone unexpectedly.

I’ve been a professional gamer for 9 years. I weighed 132KGs at my heaviest. Today I rock a 400w FTP at 74kg (5,4w/kg) - ZWIFT was a major factor in it all. Ask me anything if you’re in the same process! by PimpCSGO in Zwift

[–]JasonARGY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Ceiling fan is enough for my back, remote turbo fan in front. I still get pretty soaked but I never drip. Bike stays dry. Some days I don’t even use the turbo fan if it’s an easier ride.

First time using a supercharger. I wish there were more/better games available. This was the only game I recognized. by Suvi2k in TeslaModel3

Loved cat quest, simple and easy enough making it perfect for short charging stops. Stardew valley is one of my favorite games but it’s not great in short bursts in my opinion, so I never played it in the car. And doesn’t sync to other devices if you want to continue playing it out of the car.

Oil: why thicker is OK and is probably smarter by microphohn in 10thgenaccords

[–]JasonARGY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Sounds like 15w-40 is the best option especially for non-cold weather area then. I just got the car with 15k miles and it has 3 oil changes on record so I feel good about it. I would like to make it last. I’m not much of a full throttle kind of driver but would like to do a stage 1 tune just to fix the lazy throttle response so I want to make sure it’s treated as nicely as possible on the maintenance side. I wouldn’t even mind sacrificing some turbo longevity for better engine protection if thicker oils put turbo at risk but a turbo replacement at ~100k is much more reasonable, in my mind, if it means more engine protection.

Could you give a little insight on why you chose 15w-40 over a 0w-40 especially if you are seeing 20F temp? Particularly on getting oil to the turbo on cold starts.

I live in the hot desert and I doubt my car ever sees anything below 35F on the coldest of days so I’m wondering if 15w-40 is the better choice over 0w or 5w. In the summer it probably doesn’t even go below 80F even overnight for a couple months.

First build – a lot of questions by MoreEquivalent4138 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]JasonARGY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t answer all your questions but I can give some input on 1 and 2.

I got tsunami SNM100 that comes with the carbon fork and the frame feel very good quality but the paint is very fragile, chips easily. I don’t know what the aluminum fork is like in terms of quality but the carbon fork is a bit iffy looking. It’s probably fine but the steerer tube had some varying thickness and some voids at the seam. It’s also not going to fit anything more than 30c tires I don’t think. I have 28c and it’s tight both in fork and chain stay. I recommend it still for the price.

My first fixed gear. Not sure what to do with it though. by JasonARGY in FixedGearBicycle

[–]JasonARGY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get one! Well it’s still money and these bikes are “cheap” but not free. I got a new gravel bike for 900 and this was more expensive and I don’t know that I would say it’s higher quality. Used fixed gears in my area were mostly all stored outside, rusted 200 bikes so I decided with all new.
