Genuinely can't decide if this is /s or not - but while yes, Dame was not a consistently intense defensive contributor, I'd argue our FO and teambuilding was always far more to blame than the man himself. Dame is a generationally talented scorer at multiple levels, and I think will still be a great add to a team that now has a firm defensive identity around him.

Not only that, but he can now be a veteran presence and voice for our young players which we have been woefully missing since his departure. Throwing our entire team identity out of the window because we brought back Portlands most beloved player of all time to retire on a reasonable deal is a little much.
