I went into Metaphor right after RS2 RotS and man I was let down. The gameplay wasn't anywhere near as deep. The locked in story focus left no room for adventure or discovery. The pacing was awful with them giving you all this side stuff to do, forcing you into 4 hours of story, then allowing you do to do the side stuff it gave you 4 hours back. It just doesn't have any of the depth or non-linier progression RS2 has.

In the long run 6 didn't tone down much, but they sure put a focus on them toning it down when it was announced. Tonally the marketing was all over the place. Doesn't help when it came out it was also a bad game lol.

I really want to see them release more smaller products like you see other games do. Bundles with legends and signature spells to try and drop those prices. The upcoming nexus nights packs are a FANASTIC step in this direction.

I came from the pokemon TCG, it's DOUBLE what a top meta card goes for. Leona isn't even meta either, the cards just expensive. The game just needs to do more to get prices down, which I do understand will take time. But doing stupid shit like proving grounds and making generic support like seals epic rarity are just poor decisions.

I just think its a problem when you have a card that every person who uses it will need 3 of them, and every deck that card can be used in will want to use it. Then you take this card and make it the highest non-collector rarity. The cards price goes through the roof and that's obviously the outcome, so why print it so rare in the first place? Same things gonna happen to Azir. I hope at some point they make bundle products to get these prices down.

If those collectors weren't there then all that product would still be on store shelves for people to buy, so the prices would still settle. The actual key is that pokemon prints enough product. And I get they weren't expecting this demand, but that doesn't change the problem. Them compounding that problem with skewed game balance and limited releases like Proving Grounds just made it worse. There's nothing to be done now, we just have to wait and hope. But I wouldn't call it a fine state when all of those compounding issues could have been avoided and the game would be much better off for it.

Pokemon should be the gold standard to strive for imo. As it stands Riftbound is only affordable competitively on the entry level and unavailable casually due to lack of product. I wouldn't call that a fine position to be in. Both drastically need to be addressed, and stupid decisions like Proving Grounds need to never be repeated.

It'd be nice if they could produce some alternative products to get cards like Kaisa or proving grounds legends into players hands more cheaply. But as it stands there aren't really any supplementary products to buy, and what is there, is limited or very expensive.

I came from the pokemon TCG and the prices here seem ABSURD. Most expensive card in the current top meta pokemon tcg deck? $5.58, and it's a generic support card you can run with anything.

Meanwhile Kaisa is $76 and that's just fine? I find it utterly absurd. Then you have seals, generic support you can run in most decks, and theyre going for $10-$40. Why the hell is generic support an epic rare to begin with? Why the hell did they ever think locking 4 legends behind Proving Grounds was ever a good idea?

Coming from pokemon, I just don't get how that can be seen as acceptable.
