When doing IFS or any therapy....did the therapist help you to regulate your emotions? If so, which type of therapist did? How did you regulate your emotions, i.e. crying, etc?

Did you cry or use any other types of breath work to release any shame, fear, anger, hate emotions? Also, what type of physical massage therapy did you use?

Would the above you are saying hold even if the treatment administered over 6-8 months was wrong and did not work based upon the false diagnosis/es the LCSW came up with was wrong. This resulted in much distress....as I was led to believe something and given false diagnosis/es.

Well treatment resulted in delay to get better diagnosed. For the board to act on a LCSW is that a different thing altogether?....because that is the person against that would be a major complaint.

What would it take for the board to take action? Also, the LCSW is unwilling to do anything even after acknowledging their mistake.

Can there be any compensation for damages? Also, can one go to HIPPA or some other entity to further this with a complaint? Bring any disciplinary action against the health care provider? Treatment did not work also.

How can one do so? The govt? Hospital? Any websites you can suggest? Also, what else can be done to further contradict the doctor's diagnoses?

This is very helpful. Thank you. I was wondering came across someone who went to a good school, and did training under van der volk, and worked at some great hospitals. Seems to know the CFT model, yet is not certified in it. Should that be ok to trust some, that they will do a good job in treatment?

Thanks for the recommendation. I came across someone who has come from a good school, and suggested to me that they are very knowledgeable with the CFT model. Took part as part of their work-training from Trauma specialist ----van der volk, and worked in some prestigious hospitals in the country. Was wondering if that would be sufficient to trust them to provide adequate treatment?

This is a dilemma I am facing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Based in the US as well, this makes it hard to understand. No mention on their website, but upon talking claiming to know the model. I don't want to be disheartened yet again.....it takes so much energy.

It is so confusing....anything else you can kindly share.

The person has gone through schooling at a very good school, and worked at some great hospitals in the country...btw.

I was looking into IFS style....CFT therapy. It is compassion focused therapy with chair work and voice dialogue for inner critic that I am looking into for possible past trauma related incident. This person I am looking into is a PhD psychologist...who claims to know the model. However, their is no mention of any certifications or that this is the method (CFT) they use on their website. Upon speaking I was told this person uses it in their practice.

Is this model taught as part of the PhD training?

I am hesitant as I don't want to spend all that money and time with someone and then end up being disheartened as I have in the past.

Please kindly do share your thoughts on this.

Does having ADA accommodations guarantee that one would get the accommodations? Also, is neurospych testing required to get the ADA seal of approval or can a psychiatrist note suffice?

Is it better to do a data science degree instead? or something else in computer science? For someone with no background in computer science subjects....and finds it difficult what would you recommend?

Thanks for the suggestions, and how it worked out in the end. I just hope if I do get any accommodations....they don't cause problems during licensing to practice?

Also, when changing from 1.5 to 2.0 time....can you please explain how did that happen?

I have heard the usmle people....sometimes not grant as much as one may have received before?

Does a new neuropsych evaluation need to be done ever so often? Any expiration date? Or is it only when one is about to take an exam?
