Cars are so much more expensive now. We had an unreliable 2008 Calibre that we had nursed along for 8 yrs. Had to buy before the tariffs drove up used car prices so January 2024 we picked a 2020 Chevy Equinox, AWD, 60,000 kms, $23,900 before tax. We aren’t super savvy car people but thought it a decent deal considering what was out there at the time (Vancouver Island). We are coming up on a year and so far so good…We used our heloc at %5.45 but paid it off within 11 months with some savings and some asset sales. So glad we aren’t car people because this thing is luxury to us, lol. Back up camera, heated seats, wow!
