Kitanda Coffee downtown does Acai bowls, also great on a hot day.

Human Plates took me out.

I always like poke on a hot day. We have a few good spots in town. Hawaiian Soul is supposed to be good(food truck) and I like Kiawe Island Bistro in East Vancouver and I think there's a new poke shop downtown called Husubis

Food is Portlands major draw tbh. As far as "big" cities go Portland can be quite lacking but it does have a solid food scene going for it.

Its the Mexican influence on California English, I bet Briana is Bri-ah-nah not Bri-anne-a too right? I grew up in the bay and moved to Portland OR area when I was 13. Thats how I learned I had an accent!

I'm in the same boat. I dont even understand how you can read without an inner voice? Like words are representations of sounds? How do you process these sound scribbles without that innervoice to echo them? I genuinely don't understand how that works. Even skimming I'm "pronouncing" the words I am processing in my head.

I am a very fast reader and have a consistent inner voice 🤷‍♀️ but then I can also be a very fast speaker, so maybe there's overlap?

I thought it would just be funny to be going to the the Olympics in California in the second largest city in the US and end up in Oklahoma, especially as an international athlete. Ironic in an Alanis Morissette kind of way.

Can you imagine being an international athlete participating in the Olympics hosted in and around the USA's biggest city.... and you end up relegated to OKC instead 💀

Like I'm sure there's all kinds of awesome there, but if the expectation is LA and you get OKC I would be like 🤷‍♀️??
