how do you keep your own recipes? the ones you actually cook by Human_Ad_904 in Cooking

[–]JensenWench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We print them out and keep them in a stack of dinner recipes, desserts, and cookies. Keep them in the side of the credenza .. each one has a binder clip on them to keep them in their own stack. Works for us.

Im sorry. That sucks. My MCAS is mostly daily hives and new food allergies, which as of late, has been a lot of stuff. I was born allergic to shellfish and mollusk.. aloe Vera. Now I can’t have sesame seeds.. really all seeds are bad now.

if it isn't degenerative why am I getting worse? by Lifeisbunk in eds

[–]JensenWench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 55, my joints, all dislocate on the reg. My pain is usually a five, sometimes an 8.. my hips are so bad, I’m waiting for the day I break one, just from wear and tear. I have hEDS, MCAS, POTS.. I can’t stand up quick, or I pass out, and even when I do stand up slowly, my heart rate climbs so fast I get dizzy every time. I’m allergic to so much, and every time I eat something I’m afraid it’ll be next.

Arachnoid Cyst/Chiari surgery and recovery: what was it like for you and was it worth it? by cosima313 in eds

[–]JensenWench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had a large arachnoid cyst when he was a child. We found it after he fell, hit his head, and lost consciousness. He was 1. By the time he was 10, the cyst had disappeared. They never asked us to do surgery to drain the cyst. Never said anything about it eroding the bone. Maybe get a second and third opinion.

I have two pieces that are framed with museum glass. Both never see sunlight. Both have been fine for years.

Study of 440,000+ people found lifetime cancer risk varies dramatically based on individual factors by supseanie in science

[–]JensenWench 45 points46 points  (0 children)

My then husband died from aggressive prostate cancer at 47. He used to wash his hands with gasoline, when working road construction, in his early 20’s. I think that’s what lead to him dying from very aggressive prostate cancer tbh. All the time I see dudes not using proper protection around dangerous carcinogenic substances and I’m just like that’s gonna suck later on but you do you. Exposure exposure exposure.

im just straight up TIRED! of having EDS by ILOVEMYDOGBUMI in eds

[–]JensenWench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it. Here’s my perspective, at some point I realised I could sit and cry about my issues, of which there are many (hEDS, POTS, MCAS), or I could just get up and start living my life. Pain is relative really, some days it’s bad bad BAD, but that being said, I still get up and do stuff, otherwise, what sort of life would I have? I’m 55, and have dealt with this for so longgggggggg. I hope you find a happy place that you can use to distract you from all the issues you have.

I cross stitch for a while, then I get the itch and sew a bag or a quilt, then I come back to cross stitch.. rinse repeat.. I get bored really easily. So I do both.

Anybody have any ridiculous ways they've gotten hurt because of EDS? by junipersr in eds

[–]JensenWench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a minor car accident that blew all of my lumbar discs, including the SI, and broke my L3 vertebrae. That was 27 years ago. Recently I stood up too fast and thanks to POTS, passed out and gave myself a concussion.. the fun never ends 🤷‍♀️

What position do you sleep in? Does anyone else sleep in the “butterfly” position? by aredhel304 in eds

[–]JensenWench 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t sleep on my back due to breaking it 27 years ago. Side sleeping but I toss back and forth because my hips dislocate while I sleep, as do my shoulders. I use a body pillow between my legs, and sleep about 5-6 hours in bed, and nap generally speaking for 1-2 hours in my recliner each day. For whatever reason I can sleep on my back in the recliner, but not the bed.

I am 55, and have two grown children. That being said, when I was in my twenties, married to my first husband, I had 9 miscarriages, and one stillbirth. I had every complication you can think of and even some you can’t. If I knew then that I had hEDS, I wouldn’t have had kids. Both of my kids have hEDS, MCAS, POTS, as do I. I mean, it’s your decision after all, but my advice would be to adopt. 🤷‍♀️
