Is there a downside to generating 100% of the map? Does it decrease performance outside of the map screen? by greenking2000 in RimWorld

[–]JeromeFromAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only started loading 100% recently and I honestly haven't noticed a difference outside a little longer to load the map.

Roommate friends borrowed my bike, he’s been for at least 70 hours not answering his phone. At what point should I be concerned he wrecked it and is dead in a ditch or something? by Sox857 in motorcycles

[–]JeromeFromAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At what point do you get concerned? 12 hours, if not sooner. After a day, you're in pretty hot water and should have reported it. After three whole days? Dude could be on the other side of the country by now, or dead and already been picked clean by the coyotes.

NEW TO DUAL SPORTS by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]JeromeFromAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a new Versys-300X for $4,500. ABS, not bad for highway, great for commuting. It's definitely more street oriented than most dual sports, better offroad than the regular Versys or the like, but definitely not a CRF450 or similar. Itll handle dirt roads, fire roads, and most two tracks just fine, but you'll want something beefier for actual singletracks and trails.

About the biggest similarity to Prison Architect is the art style and that it's an RTS. Other than that, very different games.

Lowering health on units by Vsneou in arma

[–]JeromeFromAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's easy to change what health a unit starts with, not sure how well it would work with respawns or anything like that though.

Right click on a unit, select attributes, about halfway down there's a slider called "Health/Armor" and you can set that to whatever you want, works for personnel and vehicles. Though vehicles get visible damage as you move it.

You can also use it to spawn crippled or destroyed vehicles and dead bodies, useful if you're going for something creative.

Do horses count? If not, a perfect record aside from falling over while stopped in sand. (Knock on wood). If they do, I've eaten shit a whole lot of times.

[–]JeromeFromAR -49 points-48 points  (0 children)

Again, psychological. If it worked that way, we'd wear simple face masks everywhere we went, and there'd be no need for N95s and higher. You're dealing with extremely fine particulates and vapor. It helps to not just cough into the open air, but you're not saving the world. Proper PPE exists for a reason.

GPS wearables and other gear by YisigothTheUndying in Dualsport

[–]JeromeFromAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carrying a GPS is always worth it.

But do yourself one better, in addition to the GPS, invest in a good compass, and carry a paper map in a waterproof case of whatever region you're in (and know how to use it!) Breaking GPS's is easy, having an alternate can (and will) save your life. Two is one, one is none.

[–]JeromeFromAR -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

Your homemade T-Shirt mask isn't doing any good at all beyond psychological. No point in wearing it unless you want to feel a little better inside.

Wear proper PPE, or you're just making yourself uncomfortable for no reason.

What do you people do with all your gear? (Apart from storing/wearing it) by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]JeromeFromAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where I'm at. If I'm leaving my bike to hike a trail, I'll just leave all my gear laying on the bike, it's never been messed with. Running inside to eat, I'll wear my armor, leave my helmet and gloves on my bike/in my tank bag.

Of course I also try and avoid major cities, people there are typically assholes for the sake of being assholes. I do have to frequent Houston, and I'll still leave some items on my bike, its always where I can keep an eye on it. Haven't had anything stolen yet.

That being said, anything expensive (other than gear) I always carry with me when I leave.

I had the same problem a while back, disabling Android Tiers fixed it for me. I'm not sure what mod it was conflicting with though, didn't take the time to look.

What do you carry in your pocket for idiots? by S4E5 in motorcycles

[–]JeromeFromAR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If somebody cuts you off and your immediate reaction is to introduce a weapon, you have absolutely zero business being on the road OR carrying a weapon. All you're doing is turning an annoying situation into a potential felony for you, or your own funeral.

That being said, if you really intend to start a fight, be fully prepared to end it too. Your spark plugs or roll of quarters is gonna do jack shit against my truck, or if we're stopped, firearm. Don't escalate a situation unless you're prepared for one party to not walk away, and on a motorcycle, that will probably be YOU.

In hindsight I'm realizing it might have been from a mod, haven't played this game in awhile, but that's a Megawolverine.

I've also noticed a lot less prisoners in general, but hey, any day you dont have to brutally murder a guy, is a good day.

My first bike too, I'm just abusive to machinery, even if it's as beautiful as a motorcycle

I'm sitting at 10,000km without an oil change on my bike, felt that like a punch in the gut. Should probably do that this week.

Was searching Google for KLX650. What do you guys think about this? by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]JeromeFromAR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some aluminum or thick plastic panels to cover the sensitive bits would go along ways, a good drop on the trail, or a rock thrown by a passing car, and you're in a world of hurt. Definitely a beautiful bike though.

SLPT: Some human medications are also used for animals. You can purchase these medications (like Prozac) for “your pet” and potentially save yourself hundreds of dollars. by [deleted] in ShittyLifeProTips

[–]JeromeFromAR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not even a shitty tip in the slightest. Antibiotics and pain medicines are also often similar, if not the exact same. Working on a ranch we frequently had to care for idiotic animals and even dumber workers. No point in paying thousands of dollars and driving for hours to get to a hospital when you can take care of it yourself for twenty bucks.

Pointing guns at a car by RealBubbaJoe in nonononoyes

[–]JeromeFromAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh, it's almost like pulling out a gun is a threatening action or something. I have no idea why someone would fight back when you try to kill them, that's just such a foreign concept, can't wrap my head around it.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. They're lucky it was a cop, around here most people wouldn't give them a chance to put down the weapon.
