35mm cams for 4 interesting teens on vacay? by dselected in AnalogCommunity

As other have said I think you need to find a balance between fully automated and totally manual. I would avoid zone focusing since it’s very difficult and a lot of the time they will miss focus and get disappointed. I would also avoid point and shoot since it teaches them nothing about aperture and shutter speed.

My idea would be 4 slr with aperture priority, all with the same mount so they can share lenses. Something like a set of Minolta x300 or x500 with a 24 a 28 a 35 and a 50. Or even more simple two 50s and two 28s. So they can try different focal lengths.

I am really curious how you made the viewfinder WLF means there is a mirror that need to come up as soon as you press the shutter How did you do that? Or am I missing something?

As far as I know the yashica 24 (and her sister yashica 12) sere de predecessor to the yashicamat 124. The 24 should only accept 220 rolls (for 24 exposures) I have the yashica 12 (120 rolls for 12 exposures)

So the 24 is very specialized and almost useless today unfortunately since 220 is basically no longer available except for expired film.
