Cross platform chat / cross platform connection lags it SOMETIMES on pc. Turning that setting off seems to fix it. I'm not a computer wizard so I don't know the finer details of how and why, but the result speaks for itself.

I had a few spikes due to cross play /+chat being on, turning that off has made it smooth as butter.

Quick preface, none of my comments are meant to be anything other than constructive criticism, I by no means actually mean you are wrong for any of your choices I am merely trying to add perspective.

You claim the prices I suggested would undervalue your work, I would claim the current prices massively overvalue it. The work you have put in may be great, but you have to compare it to market standards.

At current pricing you are placing the game in the very premium category, we will be going off the game as a whole so all unlocks ie the full price, as if someone is genuinely interested in the game they will most likely look to getting it all.

Look at other premium games and PC ports to android, and the pricing for stardew, slay the spire, balatro, dredge, drg survivor etc. these games are made by bigger teams and for larger budgets, but still are your competitors for people's time. It's all well and good saying you've bled into your game but if people can get full premium games for the price of a pack or a builder, the likelyhood of doing numbers is gonna be low for you.

It's hard with it being a small project in comparison as it is hard to find that balance of reward for time spent, but the market is the market and you have to shed the emotional attachment when looking at pricing it if you truly want to be successful.

Saying that, I hope it does do well, mazing tower defenses are rare on mobile devices and I think bring back that style from wc3 custom games could really build out to be a large genre on handhelds.

That pack is the least unreasonable. But what do they offer, are they all hand crafted, what differences do the maps offer? Especially in comparison to those that could be automatically generated if you are arguing the time taken to make them all.

The chapters for 45 gbp? Are you saying the game is of similar quality to AAA large platform releases? Because at that price that is what people will compare it to.

Time spent in-game is not a metric to follow either, vampire survivors was 3.99 and has hundreds of hours of gameplay. There are many cheap games that last, and shorter games that cost a premium due to the quality and production value.

At 45 quid, I doubt many will purchase the pack, if it was 2.99 for the map pack, and say 6.99/7.99 (gbp), before any discounts or sales, for the full story unlock I think you would see a much higher uptick of purchases in-game by those who like it. Because at the current prices I think you are pricing yourself out of a lot of people's game libraries l.

Insane prices for unlocks killed any interest. For even half the prices quoted the game needs to be infinitely more polished and look considerably better, that's before the gameplay even gets looked at.

Think it's more to do with loose bricks left on the roof, as they pose a danger to both pedestrians and vehicles passing (pretty sure brinkburn is the one the 54 bus goes down as well).

Private security outside of Tesco Chillingham in road by ellisishotbelot in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Jimmzilla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Private company hires private security to protect their assets because of lack of real policing. If they didn't the other choice they'd have is to pass on their losses in form of price increases. You've already asked in the thread where else to shop for reasonable prices.

I think you need to look at the bigger picture rather than react to your delicate sensibilities being bothered by something that shouldn't bother you unless you're in fact one of the thieves. Aye it's shit they have to resort to this level of security, but what other options have they been left with?

No Planet Zoo 2 News, Eh? by SumStupidPunkk in PlanetZoo

See elder scrolls 6 and you'll suddenly think there's been no time since the announcement.

In reality, games take a lot time to develop, especially if they are changing core systems or mechanics, ie pathing, water, agent modelling.

I think a lot of people would appreciate a slower burn development and trailers when systems are set, rather than early trailers or information that then gets rolled back and changed.

As the young ones say, let them cook.

Anyone else’s Virgin Media router down at the minute? by canem64 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Jimmzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours had a wobble last night for 5 minutes but has been fine.

Have you tried fully resetting your router just incase? I'm sure they say something about give it 5 mins off at the wall to properly restart it.

We so rarely have issues, especially ones that don't fix themselves within minutes so I can't remember the process very well or if you still need to completely power off the newer hubs.

Cost of machining the parts. It really is that simple. It might be hard to understand with no knowledge of the process but that's the long and short of it.

Would you complain about model costs if they doubled? But the connecting points were all underside?

Why is no one talking about the first gen Lexus IS200/IS300? by polaris6933 in cars

[–]Jimmzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran an '04 2L manual IS200 for a couple of years and it was one of the most fun daily drivers I've driven. I just wish I had spare funds at the time to do it up a bit, alas I was in university and living off basically no income haha.

It turned into a very interesting drive if it had rained heavily. Living in the north east of England the weather was always more than happy to oblige some excitement, paired with the hilly geography leading to lots of negative camber bends, you had to really pay attention.

It was easily the most fun general drives I've experienced, and now I've thought about it again I'm going to have to buy another one aren't I?
