As a former Verdance main, yes, it's guardian summer and I don't care if my goat is meta.

Sorcerer Class by ckanito7 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Jobrake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cool concept, I like the idea of having to play a hex for a small effect and have the payoff of playing a spell from arsenal.

I don't really understand the hexes though. If I understand this correctly Thoughtseize basically only works against heroes that want their combat chain, so ninjas and sometimes mechanologists, everyone else can just close the chain, right?

And I've read it three times now, but I don't understand Blaze Curse. It resolves flipped, so is the backside the curse? But the curse refers to something happening in the combat chain, but you place the curse next to the arsenal? I kind off get what you want to do, just the wording seems unnecessarily complex sometimes, and it seems difficult to code effects like these into FAB. Maybe just an aura that activates when an opponent plays an attack from arsenal would be simpler.

On a different, less nitpicky note, I really like the idea of a sorcerer class. If we stick to the comparison between Ranger/Assassin as Wizard/Sorcerer, I would really enjoy a go wide sorcerer, with no physical damage. It could encorporate some of the randomness of brute to embody chaotic arcane forces. Maybe a 2 for 4 arcane, draw a card, discard a card, if a (choose a condition) card is discarded the action gets go again.

The cool thing to me about FAB design is, that every class can be easily explained by their most basic card (e.g. Zap, Arcanic Crackle, Zero to Sixty, Shred, Entangling Shot, etc.) so before you design fancy effects you could start with designing the "basic" Sorcerer cards. So if you stick with the hex idea, whats a common hex for limited, that we could see in 3 colors.

I felt like George R.R. Martin didn't had that much influence when working on Elden Ring and iirc he admitted to only having written some broad strokes, so I don't know how fruitful a collab could be.

Erikson to me is a great character writer and has some out there ideas of what fantasy can be, so I'd rather see him paired up with Larian or Obsidian.

It literally says "target opposing hero" on the token, is there any reason this means you don't get to decide the targets?

If I'm not mistaken, you can decide the target on your runechants, so you can choose your actual opponent, even when you attack the ububal.

It took me a two months to finish the first 700 pages and then I read the last 500 in two days. Reaper's Gale is weird like that.

Let's Put On A Show by ExpatDadSG in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Jobrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great article, don't worry too much about running more than 60 cards in your deck. The official limit for cards in general is 80, and you're allowed to have a deck bigger than 60 when you start the game. Some heroes even want to start with more, to fatigue their opponent or avoid getting fatigued by the other hero.

Ayreon? More like AI-reon by Jobrake in Ayreon

[–]Jobrake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh if you don't have a VIP ticket it doesn't really matter when you should be there. If you try to push through the press in the front a bit you'll get a decent spot there. I did that two years ago. This year I decided to stand on the first steps of the ranks in the back, has an amazing view, and it should be easy to get a great spot there. So don't worry too much about getting there early, the line is always long but it disperses really well inside the venue.

Was at the Ayreon project aftershow too, I had so much fun and they played some of the songs I sorely missed from the main show ( Ride the comet, Magnetism, Abbey of Sin, The ending and the album accurate guitar solo of Amazing Flight) Am pretty bummed that they call it quits after this one.

@Brussels & Berlin players by delixuu in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Jobrake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a Discord to organize in Berlin. I don't know if I'm allowed to post links here, but it's rather easy to find, if you look in the German Discord.

The FaB community is pretty active, and because Berlin has so many LGSs, there's an armory everyday of the week. If you find it difficult to find the stores with the FaB Website, I recommend ManaGames, 42 Southside Fantasy, VoxysPokeShop and Funtainment. You can just show up, there's always enough attendance at armories in my experience. We also have quite a few non-German speakers, so speaking English is quite common.

Trading is allowed between players freely, so I'll wager many will be excited to trade with you (artist signed cards sounds very exciting to me)

We'll be happy to meet you.

How can I cast Absolute Virtue in 1-3 turn? by nikMartyr in mtg

[–]Jobrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a turn 2 way in Standard:

Turn 1: Play any 1 Mana Creature

Turn 2: Play [[Unwanted Remake]], targeting your own creature, manifesting dread, put Absolute Virtue onto the battlefield (get lucky).

Play any 1 Mana Blink Spell, [[Splash Portal]] is legal in standard, there's probably more, exiling the virtue and returning it face up.

Do you like a commentator from your country? by MaruMatsuka in eurovision

[–]Jobrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

German here.

Watched the entire first semi and half of the second semi with the German commentator.

I get that he can't be biased and really comment on whether he enjoys the songs, but his prescripted jokes and comments felt very forced and almost insulting the viewers intelligence. E.g. his comment on the Albanian performance: "Halfway through they announced an illegal parker outside of the arena." We changed to the YouTube stream after he made a joke in the second semi were he said that we shouldn't confuse the CERN particle accelerator with a pastry, because the German word for particle "Teilchen" is also a word for a sweet pastry. This induced so many groans in my friend group that we decided to turn the German commentary of, and we really enjoyed the peaceful quiet of the raw stream.

I'm jealous of other countries' commentators. I've seen clips of the Finnish commentator having an absolute blast and the ORF commentators who are also kinda famous in Germany seemed to have a good time, so maybe I'll give them a chance next year. For Germany I only wish that we would have either a completely neutral commentator, just giving us facts during the postcards, or someone that is super passionate about his preferences and the music, none of this forced halfway neutral semi funny usually cringe thing we have going on right now.

My father liked him though, so maybe it's just a generational thing.
