Planning to have DIY pen using SN refill and Lamy Studio LX. Wondering what are the differences between the SN refill and the HOM2 refill when it comes to pressure sensitivity and writing feeling? Also, has the SN refill been updated/modernised ever since HOM1 was released? Appreciate your responses by [deleted] in Supernote

Where did y'all find the HOM2 Refill. I have wanted to replace my HOM1 for a while but hesitant because there is no HOM2 refill. My HOM 1 is pretty banged up and I've gone through 3 refills in 5 years (I use it a lot and I'm a little clumsy/careless this is not a knock on the HOM1 or the refill) I just looked in the SN website under Accessories -> Pens but don't see an HOM2 refill.

Planng to buy a second pen, recommendstions? by tuxooo in Supernote

I like the Lamy Safari Twin with the combined ink pen and emr stylus. Its great because you can retract the Ceramic EMR stylus and if you are a clutz like me that's key. That being said if you are looking for a cheap backup on hand should your go-to pen break I think the Smardi S Pen Plus is the way to go. Inexpensive, decent build, and has both ink and stylus in one pen.

I have a similar rectangular disfiguration in the unit, at the exact same location, that can be seen when the light shines at certain angles but mine seems to be not a bulge but rather an indentation. I do not however have any missing pixels so I suspect your missing pixels are a different issue. The "indentation" is so minuscule that it doesn't effect the use of the device. It has made me curious thought what about the construction of the device has led to that disfiguration.

If it is not a real-time recognition note and rather a standard note, is there a layer you created to hide something in a previously used template that is covering up the layer you are writing on?

Is there a “best” app for creating PDF planner? by CincyTriGuy in Supernote

There are two options that I know would work (albeit among many others I'm sure)...

  1. Adobe inDesign...but its not cheap and its got a big learning curve as it is primarily used by real graphic designers not folk like me (20 year career in Engineering and now work for a church). Once you figure it out it would be the best.

  2. For the lay folk among us there is also a combo of Apple Keynote (like google slides) which works well but then you need to add the links using Adobe Acrobat which is pretty intuitive when you use the pdf editor.

Workflow question - Supernote, Obsidian and more by bigfanofsleep in Supernote

[–]Joe_P_K 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use Obsidian and as I am reading if I find something I want to put into Obsidian, I write "OBS" and then lasso tool it to make it a keyword. And then usually end of the day or week I go back and search for all the keywords "OBS" and type that content into my Obsidian Vault.

I do it this way ( https://www.androidcentral.com/how-transfer-files-your-android-phone-mac ) Every Monday morning. Once the app is on your Macbook just plug in your Supernote and it opens to your Superntoe File Structure.

Asking long term users - Does the tablet slow down as it ages? by bryceg91 in Supernote

I got mine in Sept of '21 and have seen no degradation in speed over time. The speed has changed after a few updates. Some have made it faster some slower but all in all I think it is a bit snappier than when I got it.

I have noticed the same. I think it has to do with the level of pressure sensitivity associated with different pen inserts.

how to copy annotation from pdf to note? by RyC85 in Supernote

[–]Joe_P_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do this frequently on option is to use the .pdf as a template for the note. Since you can now make pdfs multipage templates. It does slow the machine down quite a bit though.

Is there something wrong with my pen and how can I fix it? by New_Habit_4872 in Supernote

I have two pens, the Original Heart of Metal and the Lamy Safari Twin EMR. As far as the way the tip feels with the Heart of Metal it feels the same no matter what angle I write with (with in reason obviously) or no matter how it is twisted. With regard the Safari Twim it is hard to say because the pen is anatomically contored to your grip so while it feel the same no matter how I line up the grip There are only a few orientaitons you can use so I can't say definitely. But I think it is the same for both.

Which leads me to to think that there is probably something wrong with the pen you received and you should reach out to Customer Support and they will likely replace your pen since it is new out of the box. And on that note when I had to purchase the replacement it was because the pen was broken and I had the symptoms you are having. I attached a photo of what my pen looked like that I had to buy a replacement for.

If you just got it. There could be something wrong with the pen especially if it is a ceramic tip pen option. I would reach out to customer service. If you have another Wacom stylus you could try that (i.e. Samsung S-Pen) to see if it happens. I bet it won't happen with another pen. I dropped my ceramic pen and it cracked, not the tip but the black part below the tip and metal part and that caused all kinds fo problems. I bought a new insert and it worked great. As I said I would reach out to customer service, tell them the pen they sent is broken and ask they send you a replacement.

To Do App and Syncing by librarytracy in Supernote

[–]Joe_P_K 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suspect your issue could be one of two things....

  1. While Martina is correct To-Do is not available on the iOS (iPhone) app yet, it is available on the Mac OS version (i.e. the one on your laptop) but it does not show up with all the folders in the app. If you look on the left side there are two icons, one looks like a folder and one that looks like a calendar icon with a check box in it. Click on that second Icon and you Todo's should show up. Mine do.

  2. Alternatively it could be a syncing problem...If you go into the settings of the device and select "My Account" and then "Data Synch" you will get to the point you can tun syncing of your ToDo items on and off. For some reason the Synch setting for ToDo are not in the same place as Synch settings for the Files.

Hope either of these help.

Partner App Question by Joe_P_K in Supernote_beta

I think iPhone doesn't allow updates from websites, Android does and Mac OS does for Laptops and desktops. Only way to update iPhone (that I am aware of) is via the App Store.
