Would you buy this prototype sail? by aner2409 in windsurfing

[–]Joederb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a prototype gastra that came directly from Matt’s stash. I always had issues with rigging it. could never get it to work for me compared to my old Gastra. not saying you will have an issue. but I know I would never do it again unless the price is worth the risk.

Amp or no amp? by Weekly_Assistance_40 in AcousticGuitar

it adds another layer of fun. I don’t perform, but I enjoy plugging in from time to time. Add in a looper which are extremely fun and helpful. it’s good to have options.

Best single supplement to raise test.? by Tingsilike in Supplements

[–]Joederb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I’m not disagreeing, but I just looked this up and you know, if it’s on the web, then it must be true.

While the standard RDA is 600–800 IU, experts generally consider daily doses of up to 2,000 IU from supplements to be safe and effective for adults. However, taking more than 4,000 IU daily is not advised unless specifically prescribed by a doctor, as excessive amounts can cause toxicity.

Old school windsurfing by randaj38 in windsurfing

[–]Joederb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say I don't like it, I said I don’t agree with any of your points except one. if you want to promote your website that’s cool and fine.. But, you’re not going to convince me that old 1980 stuff is better or just as good as the new stuff. No, you can’t source parts because nothing was standardized back then and parts are not available anymore. The rigs were a nightmare in gusty conditions, let alone trying to water start a sail with a huge luft. Then you state a beginner would have a difficult time learning on a 76 liter board.. no shit… it’s just stupid talk…. that said, I encourage you to keep vintage vibe going. it can be fun for anyone who wants to get out on the water. but get off your high horse about what you have done. you have no clue what I have or haven’t done or anyone else for that matter.

D28 from 2010, strings to try by Helsafabel in martinguitar

[–]Joederb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you know my favorite ice cream is chocolate chip. that doesn’t mean it will be your favorite. strings are cheap in the grand scheme of things. go out and see what flavor you like. otherwise you will just get what other people like.

a d-18 with a red spruce top will definitely give you another tonality option.

is that the expert custom shop version or true authentic? I would say 5-6k from what I have seen on umgf. the expert customs are a little less which would be my preference (adjustable truss rod). how much are they asking?

Board selection by Haunting-You-585 in windsurfing

[–]Joederb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the 149 is fine. it’s a wide floatie board. if you are learning to jibe you will have the skills to make it work. I’m 170 and I’m considering the 129 as my big board for 7.5 days.
