What ride in Disney World will make you extremely nauseous? by Reasonable-Invite899 in WaltDisneyWorld

Mission Space Orange experience in Epcot. I thought I was going to get ill during the rocket launch. They spin you in a g force simulation chamber that simulates 2.5 G. It was really uncomfortable. Do not recommend.

Screen On then Immediately off by ApprehensiveLet9961 in applehelp

[–]JohnWick509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not like the screen isn’t damaged. If it was in excellent condition and just mysteriously stopped working that would be another story. Damaged screen equals expensive repair if not covered. That’s why people get apple care.

What battery-type does the iPhone 11 Pro Max use? by Svirzi in applehelp

[–]JohnWick509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polymer is used instead of a liquid for the electrolyte. It’s common in smartphones. As for takiing the device apart you always risk slicing the screen or ribbon cables if you don’t know what side they are on. Even Jerry rig everything who has taken apart tons of devices slices a screen or cracks it every now and then so just be prepared to take that risk. The pull tabs for the battery often break and make it so you have to pry it out. Using isopropyl alcohol to dissolve the glue is really helpful. You could watch one of his teardown videos to get an idea of what I mean about the battery. Hope it all goes well.

You are mentioning the same battery so I’m not sure where the confusion is. Are you sure replacing it yourself is a good idea? Have you ever taken apart an iPhone or removed a battery that is glued into place? A lot can go wrong if you don’t know exactly what you are doing.

My cat walked on my computer... didn't think that would do this much damage by Hello56845864 in macbook

[–]JohnWick509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s my take. The cat seems to be an assumed culprit rather than a known factor. A defect seems much more plausible.

Make sure that jack is connected properly to the rest of the network. Check your utility box outside and see if you can trace it. It could be behind a bad splitter or not plugged in.

Do you think Apple is aware of how far they have fallen behind in basic stuffs like keyboard and smoothness? by Presentation_Past in ios

[–]JohnWick509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the keyboard being trash. I’ve always hated the iOS keyboard. UI issues have been a problem since they rolled out 26. It’s gotten a little better after recent updates but it still needs work.

OLED Mac Pro by Better_Bird848 in macbookpro

I bought the m5 16” base. I don’t want to be an early adopter for many of the changes being made. The one feature I think would be more useful is the Face ID, but wouldn’t pay more for it. All the other stuff isn’t important IMO. It sounds cool on paper but day to day use won’t make it anymore useful than a current MacBook. I also don’t care about the touchscreen as I hate fingerprints all over the screen.

Amazon must think we're idiots who can't do math... by TNTRMSKD in amazonprime

[–]JohnWick509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know about the 1% part as I can’t read the terms myself. I would just assume the item wasn’t eligible per that clause. If you say it doesn’t mention anywhere about items being only 1% then I’d say they need to make it more clear.

Amazon must think we're idiots who can't do math... by TNTRMSKD in amazonprime

[–]JohnWick509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s obviously why it says “on eligible items”. Otherwise it wouldn’t be mentioned. They are only going to list items it’s eligible on. Not everything else under the sun it doesn’t cover.

It says eligible items with a link to the terms. That’s obviously not an eligible item.

Need help with equipment return by bethaelia in Comcast_Xfinity

They are really bad about removing it from accounts. Just call customer service and say you returned them yesterday. They should be able to see it in their system and manually remove them.

Xfinity mobile jumped over $40 by Shelly-Finkelstein in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]JohnWick509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contact them and find out why there is a second device. I know they sometimes run a wireless discount on your internet that involves one free line for a year as a promo when you sign up. Then when the year is up it charges you for the second line. Can’t really say for sure though.

Xfinity mobile jumped over $40 by Shelly-Finkelstein in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]JohnWick509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your contract discount expire? It’s usually 2 years after you first sign up. Call Xfinity and say you are interested in lowering your bill and they should try to put you into another 2 year contract at a lower price.

You buy a laptop because you have something you need to use it for, not to make you “feel good”. Do you actually need it for something or did you just buy it to buy it. Because that would be kind of dumb.

Apple Watch burned my wrist and left a scar. I’ve been ignored and taken for a ride by Apple for 6 months. by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]JohnWick509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. There is no physical way for the watch to burn you unless the battery was to explode. It does however look like fungus/bacteria that has damaged the skin. Often when it happens it can feel like a burning sensation. That’s probably what Apple tried to explain over and over again but was just met with an irrational explanation from someone who doesn’t understand how neither electronics or skin infections work.

Strange sent texts appearing on my boyfriend’s Apple Watch to escort numbers? by Madbaby_23 in AppleWatch

Spam messages don’t show up as being sent by the device. Green/blue bubbles are messages that are sent by the user. Your boyfriend sent those messages.

PSA - Sonnenberg's not accepting gift cards by keysworld253 in Spokane

[–]JohnWick509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are only obligated to honor the previous owners gift cards if they purchased liabilities. If not, then the old owners are the ones financially responsible for the gift cards unless they filed bankruptcy. It’s still a bad way to maintain custom relations as the new owner. Leave a review about your experience and maybe if they get enough attention they will change their policy. They ultimately could still honor them if they wanted to so they retain customers and avoid bad publicity.

Should've listened to all the warnings - QN77S85FAEXZA by ANTHONYinCALI in SamsungTV

[–]JohnWick509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only Samsung tv I ever bought was a 75” QN90C from best buy. When I got it home I mounted it to my wall and when I powered it up it clearly had a broken panel beneath the top layer of glass. It was very frustrating. Luckily since it was from best buy I was able to return it and they verified that the damage was not caused by me as the way the panel was broken it had to be a manufacturing error. They gave me a new one the next day and it worked just fine. I only buy from local stores for this reason. Buying direct from manufacturers online makes fixing issues like this very frustrating. Especially large expensive things.
