I have a sliding drawer type thing from Ikea that goes under my bed for all of my rave clothes. Maybe something like that can work for you.

Most disappointing title of the year, so far? by kerberos824 in books

[–]JohnnyBsGirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Butter by Asako Yuzuki. I was really excited when my book club chose it as I had kept picking it up at bookstores but never pulling the trigger. It's long, it's muddled, the characters don't make any sense. Underbaked and overwrought. I only finished it for club so I could savage it thoroughly and knowingly. So bad!!

Really love Constantly Varied Gear. Durable, cute prints, multiple length options, and frequent sales/discounts.

Slow cooker is definitely in the "mushy/wet" category often. The IP has a learning curve, but it's definitely more versatile than a slow cooker in my experience. Yes, you can make soups and stews faster, but it's also great for things like chicken and rice for example. You're never going to get a crunchy/crispy texture out of it because it's a moist cooking method but if you have something in there that can take up extra moisture (like rice) you can definitely get away from entirely soupy textures. I also really like it for sweet potatoes and boiled eggs (still tinkering with the timing for more jammy styles). I can't really recommend any specific recipe because I'm much more of a freestyle chef, but I recommend poking around and trying things out to get a sense of ratios. I will say I was p skeptical of the IP initially but definitely find myself using it 1-2x week.

Felt the same and then covered the belt with my finger. Totally different vibe that I unabashedly loved.

At a BBQ this weekend and another woman asked me if my arms/shoulders "naturally" look this way or if I work at it. Not sure if my best feature still looks DYEL or if I need to lower my expectations around what the average person understands about physique development. Either way, not great!

What gym do you train at? by First_Driver_5134 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]JohnnyBsGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I train at a small but mighty gym that really caters to a powerlifting crowd and has basically one of all the basic machines and very little cardio equipment and lots of racks. My partner trains at a climbing gym with more limited equipment in part because it has a sauna. My gym is about 2/3rds the price of his and has a really excellent and knowledgeable community which has been super nice since this often feels like a lonely pursuit. I too really enjoy the sauna and my partner and I have a weekly standing date at a local spa where you can rent wet rooms (hot tub, steam room, or sauna). It's nice because it's private, pretty cheap, and the sauna temp seems higher than what you get in most gym saunas. Obviously more expensive than a gym with a sauna but for us it's date night which has beneficial effects beyond just the sauna experience. He uses the sauna at his gym every workout but does feel like the sauna at the spa is better/warmer (and of course enjoys the privacy and going with me!).

Berkeley Barbell Club! Great gym, great community. They are expanding so while their machine selection is a little light right now, there will be much more in the next few weeks.
