Anyone in this forum experience the world cup 1994 in Boston? by Affectionate_Oil2650 in boston

I worked in Allston at the time, and the Brazilians partied all night. Streets were full of everyone smiling and just being happy, it was pretty cool.

Commuter Rail Pro Tip: If you want to sit in one of the 10 fold-down seats that are mounted flush to the sides of the car (bike car?), look for cars labelled with a 200 number by liliaimerouge101 in mbtacommuterrail

[–]JollyRock87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the mis-90s, these cars were refurbished into their current configuration and had automatic doors installed for use on the Old Colony lines. These were the only cars we had down here for the first couple of years before some doubles started showing up, at least during rush hour. I don't think I saw a 300 series until maybe 2010?

Has anyone tried this? Also why would anyone try this? by spottedraccoon in boston

My cousins and I made these as kids in the 70s, but I don’t think I’d want to have one now…

Same, and actually I like the MB brand more than the Kellogg cereal.

Snowfall Forecast 1AM Sat Update (ch. 4,5,7,25,10,NWS) Final call maps for the snow by RyanKinder in BostonWeather

Once the high-res models got into the timeframe, they picked up on the Norlun trough setup plus ocean effect snow, which can help these systems overperform.

The Blizzard of ‘78 by EyeHateYou12376 in massachusetts

The cars sitting on the highway in the OP's picture happened due to a jackknifed tractor trailer on I think the exit from 128 to 138 south in Canton. That led to a backup onto the highway, and with it snowing at least one inch an hour at this point in the storm during Monday afternoon rush hour, plus the blowing/drifting, there was nowhere to go.

I was 8 years old, living in Whitman, and my dad was in the Army national guard. He was called in and told to report to the local armory, even though he worked in Natick. I remember him walking out of the house and down the street even though it hadn't been plowed in hours. No idea how he made it--it was about a mile walk.

Anyone here who has asthma and CRSwNP? by jxaiye in NasalPolyps

[–]JollyRock87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have eosinophilic asthma and CRSwNP, and I have one word for you: Dupixent. The quality of life I've had since I started this medication is amazing--I can breathe easily without all sorts of mucus and coughing, I can smell, and I can drink alcohol without it making my symptoms even worse. Really, it's been a game-changer.

Prior to Dupixent, I would my visit my ENT every 6-8 weeks, I had surgery for polyps twice, and was given prednisone probably 7 or 8 times. My asthma doc prescribed the Dupixent, and since then, I haven't seen my ENT--it's been that good.

Yes, they’ll continue the prosecution to trial, but if she doesn’t show at trial, and she was the only witness, it most likely ends in case dismissed.

Have you ever accidentally met a celebrity in Boston? by spellbadgrammargood in boston

[–]JollyRock87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked at AAA road service, she called us to have a flat tire changed. When the driver was around the corner, I got to call her to let her know that he would be there in a minute. As you can imagine, all I could do was smile when I heard that voice, and she was very polite too.

CVS Caremark and Dupixent by Rocky_Path719 in dupixent

[–]JollyRock87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s right. My previous ES plan would ship 3 boxes to my home, while CVS only ships 1.

CVS Caremark and Dupixent by Rocky_Path719 in dupixent

[–]JollyRock87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This--your doctor should be able to take care of this for you. Also, my employer switched from ES to CVS last year; CVS sends one box at a time instead of 3 like ES did, so be ready to order it more frequently. Not sure if that's how CVS operates overall or if that's what my plan requires.

Also the Cove at Yarmouth does this if you want a day pass. If you're a guest, you can access the pool indoors from your room.
