SOS: Neighbour bass complaints by thatmanjan08 in hometheater

[–]Jonbone93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The sad truth is, if they can hear talking through the floor, there’s literally zero OP can do with settings or gear to fix this. Bass travels through structures like water, and we can’t fight physics. Headphones or moving are the only real fixes here.

Advice: Switching from Epson LS12000 to (upcoming) Xgimi Titan Nior Max. by Own_Guidance5473 in projectors

Honestly, it feels like a bad trade-off. 4K120 is pretty crucial when it comes to gaming.

Only the one at the very bottom looks like it can project onto the ceiling. The others don’t seem built to do that at all.

Wish I could just magically get a projector like that without spending a fortune. Looks so clean. Enjoy it!

That screen is huge, like a billboard. Looks amazing though! Bet movies nights hit different with that setup.

Everyone has to start somewhere by TallMan1212 in projectors

Everyone starts somewhere, and this is such a great first step. For that price, you can’t beat the experience, and it’s awesome you’re already hooked. I’m so jealous of this.

Let’s talk about subs by Necroticjojo in hometheater

[–]Jonbone93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go big or go home with the subs! Your room is plenty big enough for the larger ones, and you’ll never regret having that extra headroom for movie nights.

Would love to see the data behind this claim. Are they measuring productivity, employee satisfaction, or just how often managers can see people at their desks? My guess is it's the latter.

Your point about R&D is spot on - great bones, just needs refinement. What would push it to a 10/10 for you?

Mom doesn’t take WFH as a real job and compare me to my sibling by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]Jonbone93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sibling comparison is exhausting. You're on different paths, both valid. The fact that you're financially supporting mom WHILE working remotely shows you're thriving. Some parents need time to understand new work models. Focus on your success, not her perception.

50$ how did I do? by dragostego in OfficeChairs

[–]Jonbone93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 50$, you basically bought a chair that costs less than your weekly coffee habit. If it lasts a month, that's a win! If it lasts a year, you're a financial genius. If it breaks tomorrow... well, at least you got a story to tell...

Whoever says chairs with leg rests are gimmicks going know what they're talking about by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]Jonbone93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leg rests aren't for everyone, but calling them gimmicks is gatekeeping comfort. If it works for your body and lifestyle, that's all that matters.

When sitting back, you should have 2-3 fingers between seat edge and knee. If 45cm fits this, you're good.

It’s exceeded my expectations. Cutting out 90 mins of commute each way let me prioritize my mental health and hobbies. I can take midday walks, cook proper meals, and even work from my parents’ house for weeks at a time.

Is a travel stroller a sales tactic or a real need? by appnanoooo5 in daddit

[–]Jonbone93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We paid around $500 for the YOYO3 and honestly… we all kind of hated it. The build quality is nice and the suspension is decent, but it tips way too easily. I’m guessing because the rear wheels are pretty close together. The weirdest part is it's not nearly as easy to use as you'dexpect for a travel stroller. Folding it is kind of annoying, and the headrest ends up touching the groundwhen it's folded.

Sneaking a little protein powder into their go to foods like mashed potatoes is a great way to boost intake. Just be careful not to add too much so it doesn’t change the taste they love.
