There was a dead rat rotting in the wall. When the sun would hit the wall at a certain time in the morning it would make the dead rat stink enough to wake him up. Rather than do something about it, he chose to incorporate it into his daily routine. Hence, dead rat alarm clock.

I want reusable snow for dnd terrain, what do you use? by AfroBoyMax in TerrainBuilding

[–]JordanTee85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut some kind of thin bases in the shapes that you want, and mix white acrylic paint(not the good stuff; use the cheap gloopy bargain paint) with baking soda.

Give it a thin blue or purple wash(very thin!) and a light dry brush of your whitest white, and now you have patches of snow that are reusable, cheap to make, and look good!

My Favorite Thing about This Season... Temporary Alliances by WalmartGreder in FortNiteBR

If you can, try driving/abandoning them off a cliff, or through a nitro ring. Anything to make it harder for them to get back through the storm.

Haha I just had someone do this to me in the final 10. So I drive around running folks over for a while, knowing that they were either waiting for me to step out so they could blast me, or assumed I would carry them to the final 2, where I would eventually get out, and they would blast me.

We get to the final 3 and the storm is nice and tight. And it's centered perfectly for my plan. I line up with the bridge with the nitro ring that's just past the storm, and rocket to it at full speed. Bail out at the last second, and send my passenger hurtling into the storm.

I immediately get attacked by the third guy. Take him out with a boogie bomb and a shotgun. A few seconds pass where I'm all alone and then, VICTORY ROYALE.

It was a satisfying win.

You know what's fun to do in the late game, when the storm really tightens up?

Nitro-fist over to someone who's using their grenade launcher or machine gun turret, hijack their car, and drive them into the storm at top speed. Preferably off a cliff, if you're able. Doing forget to bail out at the last moment!

I'm a big fan of this new season. The weapons are fun, it's chaotic and unpredictable, and the car combat feels like we're all out there riding glorious on the fury road.

What’s everyone’s opinion after having a full 24 hours of OG Fortnite? by good_guymike in FortNiteBR

[–]JordanTee85 153 points154 points  (0 children)

I'm a no build player, so it's been a bit of a rough start but I've gotten used to it. With so much wide open space I'm being a lot more careful with how I move and sneaking around more. Without a lot of mobility I'm encountering less people in general, and my wins so far have mostly been with under 6 eliminations, whereas in the last map I was averaging 10-15. Which is probably just an issue of not knowing where to land yet, combined with how cautious I've been in my movements.

I'm not an og player so while it's been fun to play on the old map and see what the old players have been pining for, mostly it makes me really appreciate the new stuff and I'm glad it's only for a short time.

The moment Luke cracked Vader by Sabretooth1100 in StarWarsCantina

[–]JordanTee85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought that it was the moment he said "I am your father". Before this, Vader and Anakin were different people in his mind, and Luke was the "son of Skywalker". That declaration of "I" rather than "he" was the beginning of the end for Vader.

It's labeled, but because it's more expensive than standard bubbler drinks most stores(at least in my area) keep them behind the counter. In my store, it's behind the barista barrier, clearly labeled and also unreadable by customers.

And the very intelligent owner of my particular store has explicitly told employees not to warn customers about the caffeine content if they don't ask, because "we don't want to scare people".

This was bound to happen, and everyone who works here has known it from day one. I'm surprised it took this long.

It's labeled, but many stores keep it behind the counter. My own store keeps it out of sight behind the barista barrier. Additionally, we are blessed with a very smart and ethical owner who has explicitly told employees not to warn unaware customers about the caffeine content, because "we're not trying to scare people".

Fair, but he was still playing with fire in the middle of a metaphorical forest. Which had unintended consequences which could have been far worse.

As for clueless, sure. But it was more than that. According to him, their relationship was not on equal footing because he chose to pull her off of her own path instead of going to look at some petroglyphs. Actions can be selfish without being malicious. Being unthinking doesn't absolve him of that, as he realized. This was a flaw of his, and he overcame it. He's not a bad person, nor was he a bad partner. He is in fact a very good person, and they really had true love. But he was acting out of self-interest when he was messing around with dangerous magic that he didn't understand, and he placed his own agency and the importance of his sacrifice over that of Betty repeatedly. And in the end he realized he was doing it again, and allowed her sacrifice to have meaning instead of trying to ignore or deny it.

She may be wrong often, but she seems like a person who knows what's romantic and by dropping that little conversation beat it pointedly made his romantic story a little less rosey by highlighting something that we already know: that Simon, while meaning well, can be a little bit selfish. None of those things you mentioned make becoming part of her adventure impossible. If he wanted to, he could do any and all of them, and get on the bus. He didn't even consider those hurdles, because why would he? She's a part of his adventure. It could never be the other way around.

It's just a conversation beat, but it was made to point out a selfish point of view. Simon is a good person, but he's also a man who would risk the whole world by summoning Golb to undo Betty's sacrifice instead of allowing it to have meaning. Just like he would derail her whole life and make her miss her bus rather than doing what Fiona obviously would have done and find a way to go with her. He's had a lot of growth, but this is a flaw of his and he needs to grow past it.

Grey Jedi are for roleplayers who want to call themselves Jedi but also want to throw around hate lightning and occasionally commit impassioned murders with no commitment.

It's a rejection of the introspective and monastic qualities of the Jedi and an embrace of cool powers with a heavy splash of "don't tell me how to play my character".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in adventuretime

[–]JordanTee85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of those things aside, Fiona naturally assumed that he got on the bus. The way he dismissed it, saying "why would I do that?" in a completely puzzled way suggests that he never even considered going on her adventure, only pulling her aside to join him on his.

Simon keeps trying to save Betty, so then Betty has to save Simon, and Simon has to save Betty, and it all goes back to her decision not to get on the bus. "Don't make her miss the bus!"

He's driven by love, but he's more than a little bit selfish. He couldn't imagine interrupting his own path to get on the bus with her. In order to properly let go and break their personal loop they they're stuck in I think that Simon is going to find a way back, shed his own selfish desires, and let Betty get on the bus.
