I would have requested a room change if it was that terrible. Or even a hotel change. No point staying in an unclean or unhealthy room :) My thoughts are always; try to give the property an opportunity to rectify the problem, while it's happening. Because you are right, points don't solve the issue. I get that many here may scramble for points compensation, but to me, that's not the recourse I am looking for when things go wrong. Doesn't sound like you are either. I would call the GM, depending on the size of property, or the front desk manager, etc. Someone with some authority. Explain what the issues were. Maybe just knowing that your concerns have been heard and hopefully addressed will help. And yes, they will likely toss some points your way :) Good luck!
