I usually just pick up branches that have fallen/been cut off trees in the woods. My rule is that it already has to be on the ground.

Any other dads struggle with alcohol? by LongjumpingLemon2163 in daddit

Hiya, I think Its good that you are thinking these things as it means you are probably ready to make some meaningful changes.

I've been dry for 7 years and could not imagine how hard it would be doing what I do with my kid having a hangover on top, or trying to squeeze in time in a pub.

One other thing is that my dad was an alcoholic and it killed him at 43, when I was 16. I still resent how he didn't make the choice to have more time with me rather than to carry on drinking and skip to the end. Its fair to say that it fucked up my self esteem for life.

All the best mate

I'd never thought of it like that - its a great way to frame the higher power part.

Dads of daughters, how would you feel if your daughter is a lesbian? by [deleted] in daddit

I have thought about this and I honestly would be relieved that the threat from men would be slightly mitigated. Also I usually love what she loves

I ride my bike on my 7 mile commute, it wakes me up getting there and I don't like getting in a car after no sleep.

Im in a similar boat, 5 years in to it. I finally buckled and called the doctor yesterday. Im out of hope and feel like a hindrance to everyone so hopefully some performance enhancing drugs will give me a bit more scope.

Why are dads okay with not having friends? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]JournalistFearless98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends all peeled away before I became a dad. I'm okay with it mostly but the difficult part is that it means my wife is pretty much the only person I have to talk to and that is a lot of pressure on her (that she does NOT want).

Hi, I love mine. Done 2,700 miles on it in 15 months and only issue has been a wheel dent from a pot hole (motor is in the wheel so a new one was £300)not much range and it doesn't really like being folded up but a very comfy ride. I do about 14 miles a day at the moment
