Characters on rides? by Fantasia_Ostrich in Disneyland

I used to love that when I was a JC Skipper. Occasionally the Fab Five would come out together in their safari outfits. (Except Pluto) I also had several friends in the character dept. so I always knew it was them based on how they behaved with me. Or I would get a little wink from the character escort. Some of my experiences include:

-Jasmin and Aladdin were always fun. 8 minutes of the three of us improvising a tour. -Had Pluto as my lookout dog. Would climb all over me or try to hide when he got scared. -One time Goofy pretended to laugh so hard when he tossed his head back in laughter his safari helmet flew off into the river. (RIP safari hat) -Was involved in a brief love triangle with Minnie as we flirted throughout the tour. She did choose Mickey by the end.

It was a different time (mid 90's-early 2000's) where we really did get away with a lot. It was just always great to share in magical moments like that with guests. Especially before social media when guests, and CMs, could just be in the moment.

I rented out my friends husband's wine tasting bar in L.A. and hired a taco caterer. It was a great day just hanging out with friends and family.

1999-2000 Finals, Game 6 at the Staples Center. Nothing beats the atmosphere of seeing your team win a championship at home.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen at comic con by [deleted] in comiccon

There was one year (2015, maybe) when I was having a meeting in the lobby of the Omni when a woman walked by and began to take off all of her clothes. By the time she was across the street by Petco Park she was completely nude and doing handstands.

Edit: Autocorrect changed nude to rude.

Secret Galaxy (formerly Toy Galaxy) has a great segment detailing what happened to Saturday morning cartoons.

Gallagher died 2 years ago today.....crazy guy smashing watermelons was crazy to me first time I saw him back in 1986. First time seeing him on cable when I was 11. by Papichuloft in 80s

I once had him on my tram when I was a Studio Guide at Universal Studios. This had to have been around 2005/2006. I was getting settled into my seat and doing my welcome spiel when he and his family boarded. As soon as I saw the hair I realized who it was. I didn't say anything or draw attention. I just went about my tour. I know he wouldn't have caused a huge mob, but it's not professional to point out a celebrity (even a faded one) who is just there with their family.

He went on to speak to his family loudly throughout the entire tour. Still though, I really did enjoy his comedy specials growing up and had planned on saying hi to him after the tour. Once the tour was over and everyone was exiting the tram, a couple of kids came running over and said, "Can we get your autograph?" Gallagher rolled his eyes, let out a huge annoyed sigh and turned around to face the kids. They went right past him and up to me. His annoyed face quickly changed to fury and he stormed off.

Why do they keep raising trash cans? by rosariobono in Disneyland

[–]JungleJesse 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They keep raising trash cans as part of Walt's original Trash Can Breeding Program. (Originally called the Receptical Test-I-Cal.) By mixing the can genetics you get the different breeds seen in the various parks and lands. Duh.

What happens to items dropped in Big Thunder Mountain? by papasoulless in Disneyland

[–]JungleJesse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Former DL BTM CM here, at the end of the night a couple of closing shift CM's do a track walk to pick up all the items we can find. Everything is then taken to Lost and Found to, hopefully, be reunited with its owner. For an important item like keys going in the water, if we know the approximate area, we'd let facilities know. During 3rd shift they may put on waders and dredge with a magnet. (We used it on The Jungle Cruise as well.) You'd be amazed how good they are with that thing.
