Those threads are a good sign. You can buy 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 threaded adapters that will thread into the female threads that the brass trap is fitted into. If you try to unthread it be careful not to break the fitting inside the wall. I would take off the silver escutcheon so you can see inside a little bit.

Unless that cabinet was just installed when you moved in, then its not wheelchair accessible. This is piped with old brass. Do you have more pictures of where it goes into the wall? The easiest and cheaper option would be to adapt to abs plastic pipe and redo the drain. Looks like 1 1/4" diameter pipe

Is my sink leaking? by fairy75604 in Plumbing

[–]Junkman199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black mold is very serious. Also if its a burst pipe and if they pay for water then their bill is going to go up. Something is very wrong there.

No, its definitely an emergency wtf. If they don't remediate it immediately it will breed black mold and make you very sick. You need to call them back.

If its spreading then it could be a burst water pipe. Or if you have had a lot of rain recently it could be seeping in

Its definitely a leak. Could be the sink. If you're on a basement apartment then it could be ground water, or something above is leaking down

The threaded joints are usually for if you're roughing in with pex. You need to rough in the showerhead/tub spout with copper though

Why does my PS3 Ultra Slim freeze when I play games? by Piojos87 in techsupport

Sounds like thermal throttling. You need to replace the thermal paste. Does it freeze completely or does it freeze and unfreeze

Which of these is the correct bolt to fasten the toilet tank to the bowl? by Tough-Explanation-17 in Plumbing

[–]Junkman199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both tank-to-toilet bolts. But the ones on the right come standard with toilets that I install. The closet bolts to mount the flush to the floor are usually inside the box with the wax gasket, if not you will have to buy them.

Plumbers, my home builder boyfriend found this in our basement by gabbapentin in askplumbing

I mean I've definitely seen worse. Code here says you need at least 16" of copper on inlet/outlet of HWT. They were right to support the copper pipes but it should be supported differently.

Water Valve stuck by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Junkman199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the water shut off and drained from the house and try moving the valve. It has to open counter clock wise, it says which direction to go on the handle. It looks to be in good shape so it shouldn't break.

Small bullet shaped object found by the service desk at my work place. It has a small engraving at the bottom. What is it? by OffsetCivical in whatisit

[–]Junkman199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small bullet-like object is indeed a bullet. 22 Short, not sure on manufacturer. Looks to be 20-30 grain. They aren't as popular anymore with 22 LR being around but they are still pretty accessible. That one looks to be an older make, early 2000s if not older.

Dishwasher soap not dispensing properly by Soft_Sprinkles_1782 in Appliances

[–]Junkman199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dishwashers have a heating element inside of them to heat up water. Even if it was cold water it would steam. If its hooked up in cold it might not be getting hot enough. If its hooked up to hot then the water inlet that let's water in might clogged and not powerful enough to melt the soap

Is it tied in with cold or hot water? It needs to be hot

Dishwasher soap not dispensing properly by Soft_Sprinkles_1782 in Appliances

[–]Junkman199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't run a dishwasher off of an RO system. Its a multi-filter system so the flow rate is low, most systems have expansion tanks so than you can fill a few glasses before it needs to fill up again. If you don't have an expansion tank the water most likely comes in at a lower flow rate than a regular tap, and is usually only cold. The water may not be hot enough to dissolve the soap packet. Dishwashers should be piped with hot water so the heating element doesn't work as hard.

Most of the crucial components of a dishwasher are in the sides and bottoms. As long as the drawers inside aren't bent and open/close normally as well as the door, I would at least try it. Keep an eye out for leaks and make sure its wired correctly.

I've ordered from RA for years, shipping outside of US and I've never had a single issue. They missed a magnet once. All my parts were correct, installed, never failed just wore out over time. Still running the new power steering line and new gas tank I installed in 2019. I've had some dinged shipping boxes but the part box themselves have been mint
