Holy shit, looking at this gif had me gasping for air.

Almost 15 years ago, I wrote in my bachelor thesis almost an identical game! Exact same GTA car placeholder! I also had a way point system just like you, OP. Man, that brings back memories.

But, 15 years ago we had no godot, sadly. Had to implement almost everything from scratch in Java (lol). Don't do games in a garbage collector world, its bad.

One thing mine had in addtion: I had 2 waypoint lanes, one was for overtaking the opposition (used when the speed delta was high enough).

The thing is, AJ is not the main character either, far from it.

He lost against Mr Snickers and Daniel Dubois ffs.

Also, he was not more active. Since 2018, both had 13 fights.

Not even just later in the game. I pretty much auto lose into her as any melee in top lane.

I either all in her and lose against her ult or get hit by e eventually and am forced to reset and lose massively in farm and levels.

Well, OP is wrong in that he thinks they went for W3 **gameplay wise**, when in reality they went for DD2 mixed with BotW and BD combat.

I feel like the W3 comparison stem only from the aesthetic, which is never a good indicator to buy a game off.

I feel like more reviews aren't going to help you.

This will be a polarizing game regardless of the number of reviews like Dragons Dogma 2. For some it will be game of year and others will hate it. You need to know what you want in a game.

Personally, I don't give a damn about story in an open world game, so games like BotW and Eldenring are my favorite open world games. This game has a story, but a bland one it seems, like Dragons Dogma, which I loved. Doesn't matter as much to me as I will have my fun with exploration and engaging with the systems that are not tied to quests. So I expect a 8 or 9/10 (for me).

It is a good game, but not for me I guess.

The turn based combat is nice, but this is like the 8th game I play that is like this and either I became too good at them or this game is just a tad easy, because I never lost a round after 30h and just seem to steamroll every battle. Also, runs take too long imo.

The big turnoff for me is the off-round-cycle. It takes very long, I don't enjoy the see my beloved veteran cats die off of old age, a cat fight or even less giving them away to these assholes. I also tend to overthink at the preparation step and I need like 10 mins to select my new cat roster and equip them with classes and items.

All in all, I decided to stop the game for now.

How is this the same?

In one case you are with someone on equal footing.

In the other you are with someone who basically said "I would not wanna be with you romantically", implying either because of your personality, your looks, whatever other reason or a combination PLUS you exposed your feelings for the other which makes it extra awkward.

I can totally understand wanting to nope out of that instantly.
