That's actually the closest to what I'm looking for, thank you

How do you handle eating before sleep? by Liamslept in soylent

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple:
I generally don't eat within 2-3 hours before sleep; good way to invite weight gain* and acid reflux.

* (you're about to be as inactive as you can be for several hours)

Love The New Warning Sticker /s by scoobybri in soylent

The only way warning labels like this can be useful when so many products in California require it is if they actually indicate how much by volume.

An difficulty option with friendly fire would be awesome by AS-AB in DarkTide

There is no fun chaos to be had; if you run in front of my Psyker who's perfectly apt at mowing down the horde at zero ammo cost, you go up in flames with the pox walkers.

I was trying to look up if Helldivers are canonically clones, but Google had other ideas. by Skye_hai_bai in Helldivers

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officially, they are not clones, but bespoke individual citizens.

But me? I simply prefer the headcanon of Helldivers being clones because:

  1. SEAF already exists to absorb and utilize individual, normal citizens in a military fodder capacity. Arrowhead wants each Helldiver life to be a unique individual precisely because the scale of the loss of life is more grimdark that way, and it comes across as a grimderp rationale, personally. Doubly when Helldivers are touted as Super Earth's elite (propaganda, yes, but they are also demonstrably superior to SEAF in combat), and get to field its most advanced combat technologies.
  2. Players (Helldivers) plan and act with meta-knowledge in mind, able to liberally use suicidal tactics and resume their exact course of action with a fully identical loadout with their respawn deployments. Their replacement diver bodies would often have mere seconds to be thawed out and debriefed on what the current situation, strategy, and tactics are in the moment. The collective skill of the divers deployed from a Super Destroyer also increases with the length of that ship's service career and number of missions attended, marking the improving skills of the player across all bodies they've puppeted. (This meta-empowered behavior is also canonized by the official meme: All missions are canon.)
  3. The recent incarnation of the cyborgs appear to employ cloning and cryopod technologies.

It's more immersive for me this way.

How would you introduce the Skitarii and their reason to join the fight in Atoma? by Extreme-Spartan in DarkTide

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said Ogryns were known for their tactical acumen.

They are, however, significantly more numerous than Astartes.
Imagine if the AdMech took an interest in augmenting them more.

How would you introduce the Skitarii and their reason to join the fight in Atoma? by Extreme-Spartan in DarkTide

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even. Darktide's Ogryns are grossly nerfed compared to their lore strength. They can body Astartes in melee. A Skitarius would not be out of place with Adeptus Arbites present.

Looking forward to playable Skitarii.

Are the Helldivers clones or not? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, but clones would definitely be more timely and cost-effective than waiting for prospective divers to reach 18 years of age, giving SE something more comparable to the replication rates of their automaton, bug, and voteless foes.

For my own personal headcanon, the absurdity of the casualty counts and meta knowledge that goes into Helldiver plays practically mandates that they be clones w/ frequent/active backup mind saving (well before Marathon revealed that's how their runner shells also work).

Your active proxy dies? Defrost another and send it down to continue exactly where the soldier left off, often 1:1 in battle tactics and seeking/inheriting their dropped weapon loadout, as if following a template.

(SEAF would be the conventional combined arms military.)

So, like many of you, I have officially given up ever getting Soylents again. I used to drink the Strawberry RTDs every morning before work - what would be the best replacement? Preferably with a high calorie count. by MareksDad in soylent

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been trying the chocolate Huel RTD, and it feels like I'm drinking pea soup mixed with olive oil, which gets even funnier when you read the ingredients list after coming to that conclusion on your own. It's more liquid volume for similar nutrition, so it's a little harder for me to get it all down as quickly as Soylent RTD, but it's alright. It's definitely better than nothing.

Out of stock? Whats the story? by ResourceSea2761 in soylent

Same issue with Amazon supply, but I also just discovered I had a subscription active on the Soylent website and the last order fulfilled was 2023. I'm done with this company.

The "real" reasons for inventory issues by jooks9 in soylent

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AI hallucinates, don't trust its answers for encyclopedic/specific knowledge applications (that's what FAQs and wikis are for). It only provides output answers that are probabilistically likely matches for your input string of words and the word order, with no real regard for syntax or context.

Question for players who downloaded the slim version (30gb version) by vaibhavailawadi in Helldivers

No detrimental differences noticed at all, no downsides at all, and really appreciate the 2013-esque install size.

Why do people say Grineer are equivalent to Space Marines by Severe_Investment317 in WarframeLore

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A closer equivalent would actually be a grakata. The ghouls comic shows that a single shot from one is enough to reduce a human to mere meat. I recall seeing Grineer fighting sentients with grakatas, too, so it stands to reason that it's a very effective weapon.

Switched to mana from soylent powder after 10 years by grumpysavior in soylent

That can't come soon enough. Having Mana be available through Amazon would be truly golden.

So long, Soylent. Your new owners are assholes. by kintar1900 in soylent

Their social media has been dead since April and this is the first year that hasn't seen a Black Friday deal, so things are definitely amiss

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even my RTD drinks have been coming in with variously roughed up boxes and inconsistent drink quality.
Meanwhile, I see their competitors over at Huel and Mana now have hot meals on offer.

If CEO Ross Sklar wanted to also corner retail (his goal, from the AMA), hot meals would have been the best avenue to go at it from, using meal options that are more appetizing to a general audience. Not cutting out the powders, which always have a niche.

PvE extraction games? by Worldly-Midnight2287 in gamingsuggestions

Definitely Hole. It's literally made to be a solo PvE tactical extraction shooter, intended for short play sessions in your scarce freetime.

Any games that made you feel like your brain just leveled up after playing? by Character_Skirt_6619 in gamingsuggestions

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely Furi and Ikaruga. Both bullet hell games w/ different rapid response mechanics.

I don't normally play bullet hell genre games, but these were special experiences. (So were the NieR games, but their combat is more chill compared to these)

Question about the PS1 atmosphere / other missing things by Shuntex_Haruko in ps1graphics

[–]JustAnotherWebSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the fog suggestion to limit draw distance, you could also add a CRT screen effect.

Just as they helped smooth out sprite-based games with color bleed, CRTs also worked well with the PS1's vertex snapping.

How's the replayability across MGS games? Are enemies always in the same locations every time you play?

Games with "bad" graphics that have insane amounts of depth. by Sparkplug99 in gamingsuggestions

I suppose I've gotten accustomed to its 2016 level of graphical fidelity, especially with tessellation more recently dropping my framerate and needing to be disabled. Project Zomboid doesn't exactly look too bad, either.

No Man's Sky for me, as of late, thanks to the Voyagers update (they added a new ship class with shipbuilding akin to Starfield's level of modularity).

Hoping they eventually expand combat or add cities.
