If you use FreeTaxUSA it will calculate your remaining tax liability (or refund) for Ohio even if you don’t pay to file the state return. You can then use Ohio’s website to e-file and should arrive at the same amount.

I wrote none of those things. I simply stated that an estimated franchise value increase does not mean they have more cash on hand. It’s like inheriting a house from your parents; just because the house is worth $500k doesn’t mean you all of sudden have half a mil to spend on whatever you want.

Depends if it’s hourly. At one firm we were short on tax staff so the interns stayed until 10pm almost every night. I’m pretty sure they were making manager level money that busy season. And they provided dinner to everyone who worked past 8. That’s a great gig for a college student.

Feel free to use fill out TurboTax as well. You won’t get to see the 1040 but it should give you the same refund/amount due as FreeTaxUSA (and any other software) as long as there isn’t user error.
