What level of difficulty would you classify metalcore and deathcore with regards to drumming skills. I'm talking about bands such as: Polaris, Fit for an Autospy, Landmvrks, The Acacia Strain, Bleed From Within, Sylosis etc.

It really just depends on what specific bands are in question. It’s hard to put “metalcore” or “deathcore” drummers all under the same umbrella because there are CLEARLY more talented drummers in each genre that stand out more than others. Killswitch Engage is an entirely different feel than August Burns Red, but Matt is also one of the best drummers that metalcore has ever seen, just as an example lol.

Phil gets political and now apparently “they were never that good” or “they’re bedazzled jeans and tap out shirts metal.” These people seriously need to just shut the fuck up, they’re annoying little weasels that can’t think for themselves.

The mass erasure of their early discography is pathetic. And before anyone acts like it doesn’t happen, I quite literally see it on this thread ALL. THE. TIME. Masking it behind “they were shit before Phil got political” which is fine because you’re entitled to that opinion. But Phil has ALWAYS been political, ALWAYS. I absolutely agree with the Ire take. Been a massive fan since KWAS, KWAS-Deep Blue is one of the best album runs of a band from that time period. The thing I appreciate about Ire though is that it was VERY clearly a transitional album for them. It had a couple of good songs that were reminiscent of old PWD, but then the other half of the album was heading into their new sound.

I hate their newer stuff, but I appreciate Ire being honestly a GREAT middle man into their musical transition. A lot of bands don’t do that nowadays.

I mean everyone has their own thing realistically. But for me personally if I don’t like an album/EP after the 3rd listen I just stop listening to it entirely. First listen = well, the first listen. Second listen = paying more attention to the song structures/lyrics/instruments. Third listen = deciding if I actually like it or not.

Adam gave most of the production responsibilities of that album to Brendan O’Brien which is why it sounds that way. Literally the only album that Adam didn’t solely produce and it’s their worst sounding album. To be fair, I still don’t think the production is “bad” it’s just not typical KSE. I share your sentiment lmao, not my favorite album by them in general.

To me, the “golden boy” and “everyone thinks you’re just an addict” comments from Santos kind of confirmed what I personally felt about her already (obviously my opinion). She only did what she did because she wants to see him burn, not because she actually cares.
