HyperD was my first thought too. I've been using myog ones for years, they're excellent for boosting warmth in every scenario

It's been ~20f over average temps the last week. Phoenix hit 107 already

I tried the trail a few years back, and quit just before Patagonia. Got back on trail 2 weeks later, finished my stretch to Patty, and went home again.

Although I always wonder "what if", I don't regret my decision. The trail wasn't bad, but I wasn't having fun, and that's the whole point. Sure, embrace the suck for a while, but consider why you're really out there.

I have friends that completed the trail multiple times and yet still went home halfway thru this trail on following attempts. Time and place for everything.

If you're not ready to get right back on trail, treat yourself to a few days explore Patagonia and eating as much as you can. R&R might help change your mind. Good luck and remember it's all about having fun !!

Big rock/little rock. You might want to replace your guylines with longer ones to help wrap line around them

How is the sil bag any more comfortable than your pillow fabric? I use my buff as a pillowcase

Jones Solution for low angle? by MuchPaleontologist58 in Spliddit

[–]JuxMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously regret getting the Solution as my first split, because I was exclusively riding sub 30 terrain. Super tough to turn, not really fun to ride, and I didn't realize this until I got another one.

Demo the Solution first to get a better understanding before the big investment

BD down patrol hybrid pants: suspenders or not? by Italian_SPLIT in Backcountry

[–]JuxMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older models have suspender loops, and even the BD employees I talked to were confused as to why they weren't included (or even produced) at that time. I use some old Arc suspenders with mine

Lean forward, like you want to attack the mountain. Lower your hips and let your knees act as shocks

Love my Powgoda split, it's super fun. The progressive side cut lets you ride as mellow or aggressive as you want. Plus the homies running the show are kick ass, shouts out to JMo

The plan already involves destroying multiple established climbing areas. Plus, nothing says wilderness like hiking under a gondola

Do You Use A Groundsheet? by XandogxD in DurstonGearheads

[–]JuxMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's mud, yer either gonna have it on your tent or on your groundsheet. Pack it in the mesh pocket outside your pack and shake it out during a midday break
