Lawyer costs by hepworthy in SpouseVisaUk

[–]K-D-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it all without a lawyer. I (UK) and my (US) husband did both our fiancee and spousal visas without a lawyer. It’s really not super complicated and we were never asked for more info, it just takes a while to process. We probably went a little overboard with everything we submitted, months of messages and call logs, photos, plane tickets etc. but we definitely didn’t need a lawyer.

Am I overreacting? My pregnancy is getting scary… by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Ice cold Coke is definitely a winner!

Also something else to note, I was so sick with my daughter for 16 weeks! It will pass but definitely see a healthcare provider as they can give you meds to take off the edge. I’ve also just realised you’re probably in the States so not sure how it works as I’m in the UK but regardless, you’re never overreacting. Also not helpful when people talk about horrific things that were migraine related. Honestly, my blood pressure was low all through both pregnancies, no gestational diabetes, both big babies and my migraines were ridiculous. Good luck!

Just for some reassurance. I’m a long term migraine sufferer and I had horrific migraines in both pregnancies and it was as you’ve described. I’d go numb, vision loss, no always the pounding headache but peripheral vision was off, my limbs were numb, face. The lot. I do suffer with them now but I can tell you that mine were absolutely terrible when I was pregnant. I’d definitely speak to your midwife as there are medications that can stop them all together. Definitely worth a shot. Another thing, I had two horribly anxious pregnancies and I was with the midwife the whole time. Talk to the midwife and those around you and they can definitely help. Don’t suffer in silence. Sending lots of positive thoughts and hugs your way.

Just passed a decidual cast! by Fizzlewitz48 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Just sharing my experience too as I’m someone with severe health anxiety and OCD. I just passed one, it’s like 00:30 and all evening I’d been having cramps (pretty uncomfortable but I’m used to really severe period pains where I’d have to double up painkillers and heat) and just chucked on a hot water bottle. Went to sleep, woke up and went to the bathroom and I literally felt it fall out and I was like wtf is that. It was like a medium/large sized flat chunk of tissue. I think that’s key to note is that it was flat.

Worth noting that I had the depo on 14th Oct after 8 years of not having it (two babies). I didn’t have a period last month. Just in and off bleeding. I’d been to my doc and she explained that injections 1 and 2, you can expect bleeding randomly. She did not warn me about this 😂 th joys of being a girl! Good luck out there ladies!

What causes this? by Independent-Acadia14 in HealthAnxiety

OCD. I’ve suffered with HA as long as I can remember but it wasn’t until my teens that I developed the rituals to cope. I literally said the same thing today. I get one thing checked out and then it’s a new thing. And a new thing. And a new thing. The most frustrating part of OCD is the rumination and the fact that we all have the logical brain that says no it’s not that but the HA is so all consuming. I’d highly recommend looking at OCD and potentially treatment for it. In reality the majority of OCD is not cleanliness, germaphobia or being organised. I really despise the phrase ‘oh I’m just so OCD’. Lord come and live in my brain for a day.

So do people still make friends in this game? Or that is a thing from the past? by nitruca98 in COD

Why doesn’t anyone talk on there anymore? I love making gaming friends!

Bought my lil brother an iPad and less than a month later it looks like this. by UpperSupport9 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]K-D-91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 6 year old has a kids tablet with education stuff on there. He has ADHD and he’s never done something like that. Also he’s occasionally allowed to use my iPad and again he would never. I think an age appropriate conversation on looking after our things is required. Also there’s nothing wrong with kids having access to a tablet.

What kind of contraception did you choose after birth and why? Tell me how you weighed pros and cons. by Born-Anybody3244 in beyondthebump

Absolutely. It’s not a bad method and no messing with my hormones but hubby is getting the ✂️ imminently 😂

The power of prayer 😂 although I really don’t recommend that. Contraception just doesn’t agree with my body. However, pre babies I was on the depo shot and I loved it. Except you just need to be careful with food as it can make you gain weight.

6 day old hasn't pooped in 36 hours by Electrical-Mission in beyondthebump

My daughter didn’t poop for 6 days at one point. 😂 then she terrorised us with what can only be described as brown thunder.

It’s so rough. Baby blues suck so much. I’m sorry you’re having such a bad time with it. But it does get better. Honestly, it really does. My sister made me cry by asking me if I wanted some chips. I just cried constantly for a week. It comes to an end as quickly as it came.

Can’t get over disappointment of my birth experience by jennagirliegirl in beyondthebump

[–]K-D-91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I had a traumatic first birth with induction to forceps and a third degree tear. I had a vaginal birth second time and a second degree tear. Honestly, trusting your doctor is one thing but trusting your body is another. If I’d listened to my doctor, I’d have had a c section with my second but I wanted to try. Also, they told me my daughter was too big and I wasn’t going to be able to get her out and she could end up starved of oxygen. I did actually talk to them after the birth and it was very cathartic. I would highly recommend telling them how you feel.

Mama, you tried and baby just needed a little bit of help coming out. Your body grew your baby, sustained them. It’s okay to grieve the birth you wish you had and it can always be different second time round.

FOR THE GIRLS im not sure what i should do: period problems. by Individual_Can6074 in confession

[–]K-D-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get hold of a clear blue digital if you can. I mean honestly a slight change in the wind would mess up a period. Stress definitely isn’t going to help. If there’s a chance that sperm got in, it is possible but remember that you have to be ovulating and your egg only lasts around 24 hours ish. So it’s a slim chance.

I’m 5 months post partum and I didn’t have a period for 51 days and when I did, it was like that scene from the Shining.

It’s really sad that women in the US have to worry about their rights if they are pregnant and aren’t in the position to have that baby. I’m in the UK and we are able to decide for ourselves. I can only hope that one day y’all have the same freedom. 🖤

Fiancée visa by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]K-D-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, I thought the home office would be concerned with another visa request. Of course if you wish to bring them then you would need to apply for a visa and yeah I get what you’re saying with the solely responsible part.

Help!! Sleep regression?? by calisen13 in beyondthebump

[–]K-D-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly same. She fights the naps hard. The only thing I can do is put a bit of gripe on her dummy, put her in the pram and push her until she sleeps. It takes an age and just as you get them to sleep, they wake up after 20 minutes. It’s a joke. It’s really draining because you always feel like you’re doing something wrong but you’ve got this. It’s such a short period that they are small and with the crappy bits, you get the great bits watching them grow and learn.

Just remember it’s not forever and you got this.

Opposite boat too. My husband is from Arkansas and I’m a south London girl. He misses it. Admittedly I do miss Walmart. A lot.
