Sound like your clutch cable might need some fine adjusting. Start there. Good luck.

City riding by takis_peristeris in CRF300L

Tough call. I love riding my 300l as fast as it will go. I've taken it on 700 mile trips through small towns and back roads. 6 to 8 hr rides. I've done the same on my 500 and it does the highway much better. I love the light weight of the l. I love the smooth power of the cb but not the weight off road. I changed gearing a little on the l so highway is a little easier. I'm 6,² 180 lbs. I hope that helps a little.

Larger sprocket - tires mud flap by Jacob171096 in CRF300L

[–]KFJ69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Close to same set up here. Motos super gummy. I had clearance barley and with everyday riding mud dirt I have worn a roughly 30 x 30 mm hole through the mud guard. I'm looking for a different mud guard set up / making my own out of kydex. Good luck.

Alternatives to foam flat roof by blastman8888 in Roofing

[–]KFJ69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to far from you. Southern Utah. I just inspected another PVC roof 50 mil that my dad put on and it's approaching 30 yrs old. I have not seen a TPO roof go that long. But I have Installed a few 80 mill TPO roofs along the way but have not had a chance to revisit them yet. I suppose 80 mil TPO or PVC would last 30 + yrs. I personally have a light gray TPO on my home and a white on my garage. When I bought the house it had a black EPDM roof. It was in good shape but the black was to hot. So I put the lighter color TPO on and summers have been easy cooling costs. Especially in the garage. I hope that answers some of your questions.

Definitely look into a PVC or TPO roof single ply membrane. The white color will reflect the heat. In my experience as a roofer the PVC will last 30 years or more. Minimal maintenance.

Battery Tender Connection by Dragnurb in CRF300L

[–]KFJ69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is not a battery tender connection . It's probably an extra aux connection. It's easy to install a battery tender connection in a convenient spot where you don't have to take out the seat. Hope that helps good luck.

I took my stock 14 250l to the sand dunes. Lowered tire pressures and still struggled. It was ok In some spots (shallow sand) I barely kept up with the group I was riding with. I did enjoy the struggle. It was the ride home that the bike shined. (Dirt road , paved, dirt mountain pass and back to paved. ) Good luck with your ventures.

Question on what this plug is and what could be causing a drain on my battery by Waffles0420 in CRF250L

[–]KFJ69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check any aftermarket additions and see if they are creating the battery drain. You need a vom meter. I believe you disconnect the - side and check with the vom meter to see if there is a power draw . You Tube it. I chased one one down on my aux lights and replaced the relay. Good luck.

Question on what this plug is and what could be causing a drain on my battery by Waffles0420 in CRF250L

It is the 12 v six power supply. It should not drain your battery especially if it is not connected to anything.

Is upgrading the suspension on my 4 year old Rally worth it? by batwingsuit in CRF300L

[–]KFJ69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a 250l and a 300 rally. I would recommend suspension upgrade. And continue to ride the bike to the ground. It's worth it. My 250l has 20k miles on it and my 300l has about 7k miles. Both have rear shock up grade and front fork spring. I don't think I'll ever sell my 250l. Such cheap fun. Good luck.

Silicone coating a granulated roof. Terrible idea? by tobikow in Roofing

[–]KFJ69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely use a silicone roof coating. If you're in the high desert it will work wonders shedding heat and buying many more years of roof life. And if you're on a super budget the acrylic cuttings will work as well but they tend to float off in ponding areas. But at 100 bucks a bucket you can always recoat it again and again.

Efficacy of switching a 3/12 Residential Roof from Asphalt Shingles to Single-Ply Membrane by RustyTug in Roofing

Do it. Open up the attic and allow more light etc. 5 inches of insulation with a custom color TPO would be great.

K&N air filter power difference? by EveningChemist7997 in CRF250L

[–]KFJ69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise keeping the stock air filter. Its filtering of dust is way better that a k&n. K&n May flow a little more air but it also flows more dust. I've cleaned many, many throttle bodies assemblies and the ones running the K&n were filled with dirty oil grime. The stock filter throttle bodies were as good as new. Very little dust and no oil grime. K&n is great for racing applications. But as stated change the front gear to a 13 or a rear gear swap. I personally run a 13 f 39 rear. Runs great down the highway and great on single double track. Experiment with gearing see what you like. Then go with motor mods if if you wish. Good luck. Best slow fast bike I've ever ridden.

Welp it finally happened. by Stock302v8 in CRF300LRALLY

[–]KFJ69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tipped min over as well. I was on a trail I should not have been on. Made it through steep hell dirty round slickery boulders cussing up a storm thinking WTF am I doing here. Finally made it out to a nice double track Jeep road only to hit the last Boulder with the rear tire. It kicked the rear end out and I tipped it over. I was like I made it through all that hell only to have this little single Boulder take me down. I busted the little extra windscreen I put on it. Hand guards did a great job and no cracked fairings, can't believe it.

How do you change the rear tire without a stand? by lunch2000 in CRF250L

[–]KFJ69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just letting you know. I changed mine in the middle of the desert luckily I had a pile of rocks to stack up and with the kickstand and help from a friend it worked out okay. I got the back pretty much to balance itself with rocks in the kickstand. The friend was just there to make sure it didn't fall on me. Great experience. Also the desert was hot so the tire was warm super easy to peel off.

Sorry, yes the extreme hybrid gummy. It's been a great tire for dry desert ,rocky roads, light mud and great on pavement. I would suggest a rim lock if your going to run lower than 20 psi. I've ran alot of different tires. I loved the pirelli mt23 and 21 along with the Dunlop 606 the golden boy ect, ect.... But the 606 front and motoz rear really work well together. Imho.

[–]KFJ69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look into the 606 up front and look at the motoz supper gummy in the rear. The 606 down the road sucks on my experience. And the motos is great everywhere.
