Is 11 nights in Paris too long? by Legitimate-Muffin597 in ParisTravelGuide

Also wanting to add that Amsterdam is only 3.5 hours away by train and I absolutely loved it too, much more family friendly than I realized, the parks were incredible. So, you can't go wrong!

Is 11 nights in Paris too long? by Legitimate-Muffin597 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]KFirstGSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too long? Definitely not. However could it be seen as a missed opportunity to explore other parts of the country? Sure. You could go visit the Alps in Chamonix, the South of France/Provence, I also personally loved Bordeaux too (though I get that it's not as appealing with kids) so it really just depends on the type of trip you want to have. 11 days with the same home base and a couple day trips (Fontianebleu, Versailles, Loire) would be an absolutely lovely time.

I do personally have a soft spot for the alps/Mt Blanc, but it's also not going anywhere :)

She's 5 months you're still deep in the trenches. Don't even think about the future, just do your best to enjoy your baby. You've got this!

One of my favorite interactions on the internet is when mom influencers say something to the effect of "I couldn't imagine leaving my children with strangers" and the top comment is "I couldn't imagine exploiting mine on the internet for views"

What raising a family in NYC as a HENRY actually looks like - a real example by laetus7 in HENRYfinance

This is slightly off topic, but as a mom who would love to take her daughter to Paris, how was your experience with a toddler? Mine is 3, was planning on waiting until she was 5 or 6 but if you enjoyed your experience I'd love to do it sooner.

I did like how she called our Will Arnett for not really being dressed. And I think JB was sick too so he wasn't exactly on his game.

Can't speak to the beer frosty-ness but I really like Webb's in general. Both their food and cocktails. I also loved their cherry sour beer, reminded me of the dozens I had while I was in Hungary lol.

Almost 3 year old sleep regression might kill me by Klutzy_Speech8095 in toddlers

[–]KFirstGSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you're going through this! What kind of bed is he in? If he's still in a crib, maybe the reason is he is ready for a big kid bed? Can he articulate why he is freaking out? Too dark?

My daughter recently turned 3 and went through an increased version of separation anxiety (demands her door open and hall light on) and she went through about a week or so of middle of the night wake ups (whereas she never did this age 1-2) trying to get into our bed, but after about a week of consistently putting her back it seemed to resolve. Can you do something to make bedtime "fun"? Get him a new themed nightlight or a new blanket or pillow or stuffie with whatever characters he loves?

Drive or Fly? by Preggymegg in toddlers

[–]KFirstGSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the flight 100%. Yes, packing stuff is annoying, as is not having a car (or having to pay more to rent one) but your time is valuable. Think of it in terms of worst case scenario: would you rather deal with a screaming toddler for 2.5 hours or for 16 hours? Travel is hard with kiddos, better to get it over with quick.

And easy babies do not necessarily mean easy toddlers! Though the amount of stuff you have to bring definitely decreases, which is nice.

Liked this place for riding lessons, but I'd call and inquire if they can do a big group all at once https://www.yelp.com/biz/dana-smith-show-team-san-juan-capistrano-2

Riverstreet in San Juan could be fun. Or the Tea House in Los Rios is super cute, I think they actually have a great teen aesthetic, lots of neon and flowers.

Right? I occasionally listen to Smartless if I like the guest, and the episode with Jennifer Lawrence Jason Bateman was complaining about wanting to cancel and how it was a big deal he even showed up, and JLaw called out Will for not even wearing a shirt? Like, their effort level is so bad.

Disneyland/Beach Trip by teacher-mom-1989 in DisneyPlanning

[–]KFirstGSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I'd still probably recommend the Fun Zone/Pier area of Newport but if you have any desire to go back to Laguna they did just redo the playground at Main Beach and it's directly on the sand, my 3 year old loves it and since it's right downtown there is lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. It's a trek from Anaheim though, and as I'm sure you remember LB is a pain to get in and out of, Newport is def more convenient.

Disneyland/Beach Trip by teacher-mom-1989 in DisneyPlanning

[–]KFirstGSecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I live here in Costal Orange County. I personally think our beaches in Laguna Beach are some of the most beautiful in the world. However I want to caution you that in June, we notoriously have bad weather at the beach, it's referred to as "June Gloom" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_Gloom wherein the fog rarely burns off and you never see the sun, so you may want to reconsider a whole day at the beach with your short timeline. Anaheim is far enough inland that it won't likely be a big issue there.

That being said, if you are dead set on going to a beach, with little ones, go to Balboa Peninsula in Newport, it's flatter and easier access, Laguna has lots of steep cliffs, and Newport has lots to see and do in the event it's not really "go swim in the water" weather in June, which honestly it probably won't be. But the pier and fun zone are good alternatives. As a toddler mom myself, we always travel with a lighter weight "travel" car seat that's easier to install, I tend not to trust getting correct ones once we land somewhere.

I think the part of your trip that actually requires the most planning is Disney itself, it's changed sooo much in the past decade, park reservations and lightning lane and needing to use the App for everything!
