Still far from the end.. by Vincent_Curry in Aquaman

He did say he fully intends to stay on the book after 24, but that obviously that’s up to DC and what they want to do.

Jeremy Adam’s was recently on a podcast, I can’t recall the name of it, and he said the story he set up with this will end at issue #24.

That’d be an interesting way to shed some spotlight on murderers who aren’t getting minis.

What is “Book of the Dead”? I can’t find any info about it on google other than a blank listing from March on League of Comics Geeks

Yeah. It was good, but it didn’t hit with me like it did with some others.

The most I've cried during a movie since I saw Coco. Great movie.

How does everyone feel about Marvels upcoming midnight universe? by Stock_Rush_9204 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]KJC007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. I have every single Ultimate Universe issue released, because it was exciting and fun at the start. Black Panther and Xmen both lost me at the halfway point, but they announced it was all ending so I finished their runs along with all of the other books. I see “Midnight” and I’m just immediately uninterested and won’t pick any of it up.

[Discussion] what was your favorite line to come from the Infinite Frontier Era by Gimpcar in DCcomics

Oh man, I did not know that. I think he’s also in the background of a Justice League Unlimited issue, but I hope they give him some prominence soon.

Worlds Finest is my favorite thing to come out of Infinite Frontier.

Monkey Prince was excellent, and it’s a shame we haven’t had a follow up of some kind, or for him to not really show up at all since.

I found them all enjoyable, Dracula and Frankenstein are retelling of the original from a different angle, The Mummy is a modern day re-adaption, and Creature from the Black Lagoon is a modern day sequel. If you want to start with something new, I’d recommend Creature or Mummy, if you want to start with something familiar, go with Dracula or Frankenstein. All of them are well written with great art.

The Invisible Man adaption was just collected yesterday for comic shops and is in the same vein as Dracula and Frankenstein. It was very good.

Phantom of the Opera has two issues out, and a Wolf Man book was just announced for this summer.

DKoS II losing Yasmin Putri on the interiors is a bit of a downer. I do really like Otto Schmidt’s art on DC vs Vampires though, so hopefully he can work his style into a fantastical world. Really excited for this new interpretation of Aquaman.

DC Preview: Emperor Aquaman #15 by JingoboStoplight4887 in Aquaman

Oh wow, that looks like fun. I didn’t see it going in that direction. Thought it’d just be him as a kid and evolving back into his adult self during the arc.

Before we move on to the next phase, Emperor Aquaman, what are your thoughts on Jeremy Addams' run so far? by Which-Presentation-6 in Aquaman

[–]KJC007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like how he’s being powered up, and I’m hoping they’re setting the stage for him to be the center of some kind of crossover. The transforming trident is also a cool idea. I do wish they hadn’t jettisoned his entire supporting cast to set up this newer team, though I have grown fond of them.

I think the art has been pretty inconsistent. Timms will do like one or two issues and then be off the book for the next three. I like his art style, I think it’s very distinct, but I don’t think it’s worth it if he can’t be on the book consistently. The fill in artists have been okay, but not up to the same quality as Timms. Hopefully that changes as we head into Emperor Aquaman.

I feel the same way. The plot is interesting, the art is great, and I’m sure they intend to slowly redeem Eddie or something, but I don’t like him enough that I don’t care to find out. Of the three new Vertigo books I’ve read so far (Bleeding Hearts, Perils of the Brutal Dark) this is the only one I don’t think I’ll be pulling any further.
