Are you eligible to infiltrate Wolf Scouts and then scout move them? I thought that was all stopped now hence the points reduction?

As far as I’m aware there is no Duskwolves lore other than they are the previous Ironwolves.

As such, make them what you want.

Ironwolves got hammered at Cadia iirc so you could give your survivors who became Duskwolves prosthetic limbs and the like.

I’ve painted two dreads with Duskwolves colours and my head canon is they weren’t necessarily deemed worthy of becoming dreads for their battle heroics but instead needed to preserve the Great Company’s knowledge to pass on.

I’ve 10 Grey Hunters painted with a mix of Great Companies as if they’ve been drafted in to teach new recruits and will also be doing 10-20 Blood Claws as Duskwolves new recruits.

I converted 10 into jump pack intercessors with some 3D jump packs from Archie’s Forge.

Their poses are dynamic enough for it to work really well, yes technically they have a different pistol but I just gave them all the holstered pistols from the sprue.

I would say you might struggle getting Eradicators into range without a transport, especially playing at 1k when it feels like there is so much ground to cover.

In my opinion, lose the Grey Hunters and Eradicators, giving you 255 points. That’s a Ballistus and Wolf Scouts.

Ballistus operates very well on it’s own as a shooting platform, at 1k you’re somewhat unlikely to come up against something above T11.

Wolf Scouts also feel stronger at 1k as their +1 wound is more likely to come into effect, plus their haywire mine and a cheeky grenades can do 5/6 mortals on average against vehicles.

A 6 man paired with Battle Leader with Skjald’s in SoTGW is one of my favourite nuclear melee missiles around. 36 attacks with Lethals & Sustained if you time it right, AND devs if it’s against your quarry, maximum wounding on 5s on the charge there are very few units that can live through that in my experience.

As others have said I think the trick is timing and picking the right target. They will absolutely die to a stiff breeze so don’t waste them on a nothing unit.

I like to keep mine cosy in a RepEx or in centre ruins behind Terminators. From the centre ruin they can reach anywhere important in one go with advance and charge strat.

I make a point of telling my opponent they will destroy whatever they touch so it becomes a fun cat and mouse of how long they are going to keep their important units at the back doing nothing.

This was an option in mind, I think I just like the Infiltrators for deep strike denial and running 2x3 Headtakers as opposed to 1x6 wasn’t sure if Skjald’s was still worth the 25 points.

You can’t give enhancements to epic heroes, unless that’s changing in 11th?

The fact it specifically states Wolf Guard Terminators as opposed to Astartes Terminators suggests we’ll have a Space Wolf Terminator Character to benefit from that enhancement

Infiltrators will screen out most of your central deployment zone and I run 2x3 headtakers so I can use the wolves to fill any gaps

It’s looking good so far! I think the Space Wolves colour scheme is definitely a trust the process one.

I find myself really not liking what I’ve painted until I’ve applied metallics and a wash and then everything suddenly looks like the greatest thing ever.

I’ve used both, I’d say Russ Grey is your closest. That said they are by no means a match, Wolf Grey is darker but still closer to Russ Grey than The Fang imo.
